Oh :hide I think I asked somewhere.....no idea where, there is so much food related posting going on I lose track.

That sounds simple and yummy! I have not bought any stevia yet.....may just have to.

Sounds like an absolutely perfect Sunday!

I have a few little back yard chores that I have been putting off myself. Kids are out of school this week so I guess I have no excuse.

So I have a dumb question....how do you do in a cow?
I will be shooting her in the head with a .22 rifle, hollow point bullet~just in case a regular one just isn't enough. She will have her head down eating her favorite treat when this is done, so she won't be too traumatized. :( I'm sure I'll be somewhat traumatized and that will be one pic of the procedure that no one on here will want to see.

We will be trying something new for us and that is the gutting while the animal is hanging....never tried it before but we want to do it this time so that all the offal will just fall into a cart, nice and neat. Supposed to be really cold here next week so this will be perfect conditions for the slaughter.

Thanks, lori! :) I've killed literally hundreds of animals but it never really comes easy for me, ya know? People think I'm hard because I can do it, but it never comes easy. But, since when is life supposed to be so darn easy?

I think this is what is so incredibly wrong with the world today, among other things~everyone wants everything to be easy. Millions of products and inventions created to make life easy. It sometimes is nice, don't get me wrong....but at what price?

We have become a nation of people ignoring all the pollution, horrible CAFOs, political corruption, greed and everything else that comes with making our life easier. It's easier to pick up one's meats in the store so you won't have to look at those big eyes while you are killing it. It's easier to buy a veggie in the store because you may break a sweat growing your own. It's easier to say you "just have a difficult child" than to discipline consistently.

Sometimes the best things in life don't come easily....they are the result of hard work or doing something you don't like to do for a good end result. I don't like to kill. I don't like to punish my children. I don't like to get hot and sweaty while working outside. I don't like to wipe butts, listen to whiney families or put up with stupid management decisions~but sick people are comforted when I do and I have a roof over my head....weird, isn't it? :p Seems like all the things that yield good things come straight from having to do something we don't like to do!

Putting up with some stuff is how people get by. Too many people think Everything has to be exactly their way. :he Nobody should be that spoiled.

It is a misty, moisty morning here on the farm dot. No visibility and quiet......this is what I call a "Chickens in the Mist" morning....

Thanksgiving is upon us and I'm so thankful for all the blessings in my life, but today I'm feeling out of sorts. Just one of those days, you know?

Dealing with patient's families and all the bobble-headed notions of the folks I work with has made me soul weary. This happens occasionally but I soon get my charitable bone back in place... :p

Just keep prayin', just keep prayin', just keep prayin'....... :bow
