What bothers me even more is that most of these people have children and raise them with similar skill.

Awww, just don't cut the mustard.

Actually, as usual, you are correct, Farm! Both have daughters that treat them like crap, talk to them like a dog and milk all the money they can out of them.....

Funny how one follows the other, huh? :(

My sheep are such characters and they are both in really hot heat right now, so they are miserable! Seriously riding and you can sense their urgency....I almost wish I had bred them just so they wouldn't feel so.....well, YOU know! I've felt like that plenty of times and it doesn't feel good..... :/

I called a fellow about getting a Dorper ram for them. I just want to check his prices and see his stock, maybe to be able to purchase one in the spring. I think having my own ram will solve a lot of problems.

Maybe create a few a couple of months out of the year, but still will keep me more independent and keep a closed flock.

No, I bent him over the couch and used the belt. Too big for my lap and one can't get a good swing in with a large kid on one's lap

I popped my daughter's behind today. I hate doing it but when they sit there and look at you like they can't hear a word you say, that's when I decide to snap them back into reality. That and just being sassy and having an attitude. Grrrrrrrrrrr.

Lori, that was my problem here. Ever since he came back from the military basic training he has been sullen, carrying a bad tone of voice when he answers questions and basically having the teen body language.

I've never allowed typical "teen" behavior from my boys and I don't intend to start at this late date. He had been warned and warned....third time is the charm here. I give my children every chance to correct bad behavior, I try giving chores as a punishment, taking away privileges, etc.

If that all fails, then I have to fall back on extreme negative reinforcement.

I hate it also, but I would hate it more to unleash that kind of person on the world....too many of those out there now! :p

Mine have just developed the attitude issues. They are 4 and 2 so they are testing the waters and seeing what they can get away with. I just hate it when they talk to me like they are 16 with a bad attitude. Gotta nip it in the bud now....that and the constant bickering but that is sibling rivalry. I figure it's karma....me and my brother were the same way, always picking on each other. :hide

Teen body language!! :gig Perfect way to describe it!! I call them all "meanagers". I threaten my own TEENager that meanagers are NOT allowed in my house. And there better be a fly on that ceiling that you are lookin at...not rolly eyes or your gonna get it!

Hey at 2 and 4 a good swat will sure put them to bed for the night! Am I right?! I rarely had to do it, but when I did, she went to bed crying and slept all night through. (Prolly what she really needed was sleep.)

Not a big spanking fan but when you are at your wits end and you have tried everything, well..... (My daughter has probably been swatted only 2 times in her life.)

Last time my tiny little baby son (the 6'2" GEEK) gave me a sassing I took a nylon "wooden" spoon to his tiny little bare thigh (well not SO tiny and it was summer shorts weather). He looked up at me totally shocked and said,"Ouch! That really hurt!" To which I replied, "Good it was supposed to!"

Point taken and received loud and clear.

Amazing. Sometimes an attitude just needs a "little bump" to get it working correctly again. :D
