Thanks, guys! :D Delia, the Bat got a real kick out of your Christmas card.....she laughed out loud about you calling her The Bat!

We are sitting around making plans like crazy! I think we are going to try to keep Dad here at my house and try to see if we can avoid taking him to a nursing home. It all depends on how manageable he can be. With the right meds and with me to guide her, I think we are going to try real hard to make life happen right here.....God will provide what we need when we need it, just like the song! :)

This holiday will be rich with the love of God and family....probably the best Christmas ever!!! :love :celebrate All my boys home, my parents home, my sis and her daughter and another sis coming to visit on Christmas day....I don't know where we will fit everyone but this will be a real blessed Christmas.

I hope everyone else will have all their Christmas prayers and wishes come true also! :frow

Trying to get caught up on everyones journals its been a busy week here.....Bee, thats great news about your dad. The LORD will provide...all will be well again! It sure didnt take long for that "trio" to get fed up hu? Im sure there will be rough waters ahead...but..you can do it. We need pics of those beautifull colors!! Sounds so cheerfull! I would love to paint...but we have 1970's panneling in most of the house. This house was built by HIPPIES! LOL For real.....big hunks of melted glass, set in the concrete on the front porch....panneling in almost every room in the house...and tri colored semi shag carpet, throughout. My work is cut out for me here. :/

Thanks, gals! :)

Just, paint that paneling! I have always painted paneling....I really, really hate paneling!! If I find myself in a house with paneling on the walls, I paint it pretty darn quick. Paneling takes paint really well and looks great afterwards. I have no remedies for shag carpeting, except to rip it up....... :sick

I always told my mom, the only time I ever wanted to have paneling around me is maybe having a coffin made of paneling....that way I couldn't die from the hideousness of it! :p

 :D No...no! Not at all!

If you are lost in the 70s.....

Trust me, I've been there and it wasn't exactly the high point of home decorating history..... :sick

When we first moved here the house that we moved into had last been remodeled in the 70's.

The living room consisted of orange, brown, and yellow shag carpet, wood paneling, glass doorknobs, cream colored ceiling paint with sparkles and a rustic grainy wall paper, lighted wall mounts and a severely sagging floor.

My brother's room had blue wall paper but one entire wall was molded over so they had to redo it. My 6x8 bedroom had pink wall paper, which my mom would not redo even with my persistent nagging.

No, I guess I do not miss that house all that much, but it held a lot of good memories. It was an adventure back then, at my age.

Although the worse part was that the cellar, though very large, was completely dirt with walls made from horribly piled stone. Come the colder months it was not uncommon was see snakes slithering across the floor.

We still have furniture from the 60's and 70's in our basement..

I did like the carpet, for the record.

I might add the bathroom was completely painted in a thick lead-based peach colored paint. Yummy.

Pink walls, huh? I once put a pink dress on my oldest son when he was a baby......just couldn't resist seeing what he would look like if he were a little girl. He made a cute, but quite goofy lookin' girl child! :p
