Hey Bee, nice poem.

Do you have a recipe of the UP/ACV concoction? I would like to give it to my hens for a little New Year cheer.

Edited to add: BTW what's UP? :idunno My guess is that it is unprocessed, but would like to be sure.

Glad the drench worked on your hennies. Mine probably need a dose of the same. I am giving mine a bit of AVC but it has no mother in it.

Hope you feel better (and can get some good treatment) as soon as possible. The whole tooth thing has me in a shiver. I can't stand my mouth to hurt!! Even with that to cope with I know you will have a lovely day.

Merriest of Christmases to you and the Bat! So glad you all are together for the holidays this year! :D

Hey, Tallman! Unpasteurized= UP. I just poured 2 cups of the ACV, threw in about 2 Tbs. of liquid garlic, 4-5 large dollops of raw honey and shook it up. Poured some in all the watering containers.....the dogs wouldn't drink it and the sheep wouldn't drink it....the calf and chickens weren't so picky and didn't have an alternative. The dogs and sheep wouldn't either if they didn't have snow to chomp.....brats! :p

I'm going to use my drench gun and give the sheeples, dogs and cats all a big shot. I know they say garlic isn't very good for dogs, so I will go easy on the garlic for them....although they eat all the garlic scraps from our juicing efforts anyway.... Those pups will eat about anything!

MERRY CHRISTMAS BEE! :D

(Bee I started giving my hens ACV in their water about two weeks ago and their egg production has went up. Plus I used warm water, they seem to like warmer water in the colder months. Im not sure what one would have to do with the other but, they seem much happier and look better. )

Merry Christmas to you and yours!

I liked your poem.
I'll have to give my chickies some of that concoction too. Just a little boost shouldn't hurt.

I had a lovely christmas eve. Everyone pitched in to make the dinner happen, cleaning, cooking and sprucing things up. Then we had dinner with my DD and her hubby and SO's DS and his long time girlfriend. Afterwards we opened presents. It was a nice peacefull family affair with much laughter and love. Most everyone got socks and got very excited about them ;)

Talked to Tom, The Dorper Guy, this evening and found out more about his life. I bet he could really add to this forum, he is so well-rounded in this lifestyle.

He has draft horses that he works his farm with and has all the horse drawn equipment that one could need to do this. I find it quite satisfying to know that there are guys out there persuing this dream without a partner to egg them on. That is indeed encouraging for you single gals who may want to find a man who enjoys living off the land, developing self-reliance and is real handy with all kinds of chores...the man built his own house, did all the plumbing and wiring, and even cans his own food. What a great guy, huh? Now....who's mama was needing a man...can't remember...... :)
