Well, all GH buses are on hold at Knoxville, TN, so I didn't have to .....um....I mean, GET to start traveling tonight down to fetch him. :p  Poor guy is so disappointed and homesick~and now stranded at a bus station in the middle of the night. Well, he has plenty of company, I guess. :/

We have about 10 in. right now and it is pouring snow....it is very, very beautiful! At 22 degrees, it should be pretty icy even when they do get the plows going in the morning...but at least it will be daylight.

NOW I wish I had that snow shovel that I stored away somewhere in some building or other....haven't had to use it all the 4 years I've been here.
I am so glad to hear you didn't go out last night in this mess. DH and I was watching TV and they were posting road closing left and right. I hate that he had to stay in a bus terminal, but better safe than sorry. If you left today I hope you are safe! Let us know when you get back home!

I will be starting out in the morning to pick him up in Charleston, WV and the snow looks like it has stopped. Supposed to start up again on Mon and Tues but be sunny on Wed.

We have about 2.5 to 3 ft. with drifts to 4 ft. here.....it truly is a silent night! The dogs played out in the snow today and it was so deep they looked like they were swimming across the yard!

The chickens didn't venture out, so I shut them in with treats and some great ACV/garlic/honey water. Same with the sheep and dogs...everyone got UPACV/garlic/honey water for a tonic and a boost.

Extra deep bedding in the sheep pen, dog beds, and coop really kept everyone snug as a bug in a rug.

Can't wait to get this long drive over and get my boy back home.

I hope everyone is warm, dry and safe in their houses tonight and for the rest of the week!

Dace, you pipe a little sunshine this way and I will make a snow angel for you! :D

Back from the wild and wooly white wonderland....the roads weren't as bad as I expected, have driven much, much worse.

Eli is back in the house and all it well with my boys. Thanks for all your prayers for our safety....we never even had a close call and were even able to stop and help two different set of folks get out of a snow drift. Pulled one lady out and shoveled a couple of young guy's car and pushed as it was being pulled out. A reason for everything, you think? :)

All is not so well concerning my father and his increasing behaviors. It seems his "guardian" couldn't get him to take his meds and hurried to drop him off to me for the holidays. He was pretty bad and kept going out in the snow and floundering around, despite my mother's best efforts to keep him inside. He was threatening to kill himself, wanting to murder people, mad at Mom because she wouldn't take him home to their log cabin, etc. He was back to square one like he behaved before he was involuntarily committed.....so we had to send him back to the hospital tonight.

My church prayed, I prayed, Mom prayed and it all had a miraculous air about it....it was strange, amazing and peaceful as can be. Our hearts still ache but it could have been much worse. Dad woke up from a nap, looked around and asked, "Where am I going?" This gave us an opportunity to sort of prepare him for when the deputies arrived. We told him some nice gentlemen were going to take him to the hospital for bloodwork and medicine and he was fine with it!

He hugged Mom good-bye, smiled pleasantly and left like a breath of smoke....gentle as a lamb. We immediately thanked God for this Christmas miracle....I know it doesn't sound like much of a miracle to most folks, but when you are braced for fighting, begging, crying and a verbal outburst~this was indeed a miracle.

I hope you all have your own sort of Christmas miracle this year! :frow

Not eactly as planned, but things will work out. Hopefully they can get him stablized and home with you for Christmas. Will keep you in my prayers Bee.
The good thing is that you got him back...the rest is in God's perfect timing, and His plan. Keep the faith Bee. So glad you had a good trip and didn't have any sudden meetings with snowbanks or ditches

It was all meant to be. Praises for the blessings of God.

He will be safe and sound in the hospital. Perhaps in time when he passes through this volatile stage, he will be able to come for family visits. You guys are doing the best thing for everyone. He will be safest in a hospital environment AND under you and Bat's supervision and care.

Glad you made it home safe. Now have a good Christmas with that kid and your mom. :D
