Well, I'll know whose brain to pick for recipes!! :D That is good news to hear, Farm....the only lamb I've eaten was prepared in a crock pot with lots and lots of garlic....it was very greasy, fatty, and you couldn't really taste the meat much. :ick

Another installment of the ignorant family follies: The Toxic Trio stripped my mom's house of all the dishes, foods, spices, towels and other easily portable items when they left. They also took items off the walls and smashed them on the floor and left several bags of trash in the home.

I think they should all have Kid of the Year Awards this year for taking their mother to court, stealing her husband and her assets from her, threatening to have her committed, maligning her reputation, trashing her home, stealing her possessions and then returning her sick and confused husband to her right before Christmas so she would have to re-admit him to the hospital for psych treatment for the holidays. Can I get a :woot for these pillars of the community who sit in church and spout lovely sentiments about what loving, Christian folk they are? :duc :rant :somad

There...I have vented my bitterness once and for all and feel cleansed...the toxins have left the building! :D

Now, for a new year and may the previous year be a distant memory that only glimmers of the golden moments and not the dark ones. :)

I always keep in mind when those situations come about that they might look lovely on the outside and be able to fool other people and even themselves, but God sees the heart and knows the truth.

You win in the end. You get to live with the old Bat and have all of the best things at the end of the day.

How is that remodel coming along? Did you take a break over Christmas?

I so needed to hear this! (er read it?) I've been trying to keep this in mind in regards to E's siblings. They may have fooled other people, but they cannot fool God.

Sorry for the hijack, Bee!

Oh Bee! HTey trashed her house and stole things too? Man your mother should be taking these idiot kids of hers to court for that nonsense! Grrrrr! I can't believe these kinds of people warm our church pews on Sunday mornings. God does see all ths Bee, and He will judge them heavily in His time.

As always, Farm, your wisdom is legion! :love

Took a break over the holidays and now my busy bee, Bat, is kind of fixed on getting all this "giving Dad back to you" legal and getting him out of the psych hospital and into a nursing home.

It will continue.....but this weekend is reserved for things that must happen.....

1. Kill Two Bites. Been waiting for a good time, waiting for this absolutely frigid weather to break, waiting for the will to kill, so to speak. But...she is currently riding my Black Betty down into the ground, over and over all day long. I'm afraid she is going to do her an injury and I don't have any other place to keep her that is separate from both the sheep and my hay storage. Two Bites must die.....

2. The yearly cleaning, re-organizing and general finishing all things in my to-do box in my home office. Several things need finalized, paid off, put to rest, thrown away and cleaned up. New Year, new beginnings!

3. Finally make a large batch of dog food from all the scraps I've been hoarding in the freezer and from Two Bites organs and scraps.

4. Take a break from my and Bat's troubles and do something for someone else....there is a dear, sweet little lady in the local nursing home that I want to introduce to Bat. Bat needs an outlet that is not involved with her life woes and my home reno. This lady LOVES to play Scrabble....this weekend is Scrabble time! :D

But I will tell you this, gals....I've literally basked in the glow of my softly hued yellow walls all throughout the holidays. I can't get over what it has done for my living room and Bat's bedroom to have a fresh coat of sunshine! The yellow is just right and the green trim gives it that extra splash that turns it into an all season room.....good for winter and will be especially great this spring/summer. My fresh cut flowers will show up against this color scheme just as well as these scarlet poinsettas.

My sis raved over the difference in Eli's/Bat's room...it looks so crisp and warm at the same time~her yellow has bright white trim. Just need to provide the finishing touches of those drawer facings mounted on the wall, curtains(we've decided to sew her some roman shades) and a hand-painted flower on either side of closet.

I like to decorate slowly, as the mood hits me....so I will slowly add touches to the walls in the form of my dried flower arrangements next year, family photos, etc. Both the Bat and I like to keep it uncluttered and very spare on the wall decorations, so this works out well. We've always noticed that an uncluttered room looks like a clean room...whether it is or not! :D

Those rooms sound lovely. Almost makes me want to get painting. .. Almost!
I'm just glad that I am finally out of bed and able to do some things around here. I am going to take it slow for a bit yet. I don't want to relapse.
You have quite a schedule going. I not ready to make one for myself yet.

Here's a hug, FD, for your low energy status....it's hard to recover from being ill. :hugs

Keep in mind, I wouldn't have one patch of paint on my walls if I hadn't gained a new old wife in my family...she is an energizer bunny when it comes to finishing projects!

We constantly joke about her being my "wife". All these years folks have told me I need a husband.....I always replied that I had tried one of those and they are defective :rant and what I really needed was a good wife that cleans the house, cooks, and greets the kids off the bus while I am at work! :p

Now I have a wife! Okay, okay! I know that sounds like the weirdest setup in the world, when your mom becomes your wife.....but in WV anything is possible! :D :gig
