I love it! :gig I need a cleaning lady around here as well!

My hubby and I have gone into hibernation mode around here. We read, we eat, we nap we watch movies and we stoke the already roaring fire. Our big entertainment has been to let the dogs out to go pee!

Now that Christmas break is over (well other than MY SNOW DAYS!!) we look at each other and wonder why we didn't get anything accomplished!

Your remodeling tales have inspired us once more. We are going to FINALLY gut my bedroom over Presidents Day break in February. That is the last major room that needs new insulation so out come the walls! Probably the way we freeze each night in that room also has been some encouragement as well. It is the coldest room in the house on the NW corner! Brr!

 anything is possible in WV, girl that is too funny!

My husband's nanny loves to play Yatzee! She is queen, it is so funny cause when we would visit her at the nursing home we would stay for hours playing yatzee with her. I used to work at a nursing home/assisted living facility/adult day care. I was kind of a catch all person. I worked in the day care in the morning, did the front desk and answered phones while the secretary was on lunch break and helped her with payroll, and then assisted the activities director in the afternoons. I would get into so much trouble when she was out sick cause I would do exercises with them (I made them all touch their toes---gasp) and I would blow up beach balls and take everyone into the common area to play kickball, I would also blow up balloons and put everybody into groups and see how long everyone could keep the balloon from touching the ground. So much more fun than wine and cheese and bingo. I think she just hated it cause they liked me more than her.....geeeee, wonder why???

I think it would be good for your mom to get out and go visiting...help her make some friends. You are such a good daughter! :hugs

Bee, remember someone was trolling on a thread, going on about that we were all backwoods inbred hicks? And we were all yakking it up and playing along pretending to all be related?

Well it's official now! LOL

But hey, if it makes you happy, it makes me happy.

It does remind me though, theres this guy in town, married a widowed lady, but after a while divorced her and married his 'step-daughter'. LOL. :idunno

Here's a hug, FD, for your low energy status....it's hard to recover from being ill. :hugs

Keep in mind, I wouldn't have one patch of paint on my walls if I hadn't gained a new old wife in my family...she is an energizer bunny when it comes to finishing projects!

We constantly joke about her being my "wife". All these years folks have told me I need a husband.....I always replied that I had tried one of those and they are defective :rant and what I really needed was a good wife that cleans the house, cooks, and greets the kids off the bus while I am at work! :p

Now I have a wife! Okay, okay! I know that sounds like the weirdest setup in the world, when your mom becomes your wife.....but in WV anything is possible! :D :gig
:yuckyuck
  :gig
I think many of us would prefer a "wife". I sure do
I would rather go to work than do all the "housewifey" things. I definitely prefer working outdoors to any other work. At one time I had a roommate who did the wifey stuff. It was great!! She would have lunch ready for me when I came home from work at lunchtime, fixed dinners, cleaned the house and was fun company all around. I hated it when she and her fiancee moved into a place of their own.
I begged them to stay. I even offered them the master bedroom with it's own bath for the same rent!!!
A good "housewife" is worth her (or his, I do know one or two men who are good "housewives") weight in gold  :p

Edited to correct grammar

Problem is, I want to stay home and be the housewife.....I don't mind cleaning at all. I like a clean and organized house...just don't have the time due to working most of the time.

The Bat put up the new ceiling fan in the living room today and it looks grand! The old light fixture was like nothing I'd ever seen....circa 70s... :sick She is certainly a marvel! :love

Won't be killing Two Bites right now....neither truck has the guts, or tires, to get up in the back yard in this snow...I got hung up by the sheep pen today and barely got it back on level ground. I need the truck to pull her up in the skinning tree and to pull her hide...so TB gets a reprieve for now.

Next will be to finish the hallway and put a few finishing touches to her room and the living room and those rooms will be done until we refinish the living room floor in the spring. Yay! :ya

Bee, I bet that what really goes on is, that you do things together and do things for each other, because you appreciate each other. When you can work with someone on a chore, it makes it go so much easier and funner. You can chit chat, compare methods, discuss the proccess, be silly or whatever. Something that would be boring or tedious gets done in a flash. Things that take longer like your painting, feels good because you help each other and you both get to enjoy the end result of having a nice clean cheery room. And you can egg each other on, when you don't feel like doing it anymore. I bet you each go into those rooms and say to each other how nice it is looking already, even if it isn't done yet!

I really enjoyed working with my mother recently, and I loved doing things with her. It was regular day to day chores, but doing them together made it fun. On the days she went to work, I cleaned up in the house, so she wouldn't even have to think about it, because it was done. And she appreciated it!

You are correct! :) We do, although we are having a little adjustments here and there with how things are to be done.....little wrinkles to iron out. Like the fan....she wanted to have the wood side of the fan paddles to be showing, I wanted the white. She knew I wanted the white.....but she insisted on putting the wood side down because she thought it "looked better".

I insisted on the white. It is now white.

She also painted an antique trunk I have had for about 15 years because she thought it looked "shabby and awful"....... :th :he

Little wrinkles to iron out...... :/

I got the truck into position, thanks to this teens weather....I can now dissect a cow! :p

I know I promised plenty of pics and I will surely try to do so but we will be moving and grooving to get this calf done before we freeze our cajones off! :barnie

Then we are going to have some baby filet mignon! :celebrate :drool :weee The rest will be ground into burger, as there won't be enough to fool with for other kinds of cuts.

And the dogs will finally get their homemade dog food, thank goodness! :celebrate Poor Lucy's teeth are getting worse and worse for eating regular dog foods and I refuse to buy that glutenous mass they call wet dog food. :sick
