Don't tempt him, Dac...he'll do it! I told the Bat not to go out and try to do chores out in the back yard for fear she will slip, fall, bang her head on the snow and be knocked out. Besides being a Professional Butt Inspector, this dog will eat anything!
We'd come home and find him gnawing on her little, rubber farm boots and some Bat bones .....
Well, folks, may be out of touch for a little bit...this snow is playing havoc with the phone lines and I have dial-up....will see you more when this is resolved.
Funny thing....we only have phone service late at night and early in the morning, then we get static and no dial tone for the rest of the time. Weird!
Just thought I'd let you know, I'm coming to live with you....I'll work off my stay, weeding, hauling water, chopping wood, skinning, canning, whatever, but I'm still coming. *hops on her imaginary draft horse and heads off to Bee's place*
Love the dog story! Yup farm life is soo entertaining, especially when you have animals. Who needs tv
pioneergirl, I don't blame you for heading off to Bee's, I think I might join you. We could all cozy up at Bee's. Chores would be much more fun with a group willing to do them. It would hardly seem like work at all! We could inspire each other and then play games, drink hot beverages, eat goodies (homemade by us) and keep the fire stoked and get a good night's sleep, because we worked and played hard.
Look out Bee, we're coming on our imaginary horses and sleighs.
It may not be freezing and snowing here, but is dreary with all the rain and cold (not freezing, but brrr it's still cold). I am in desperate need of some cheeryness and friendly comraderie!!!
Bee, I hope everything is alright at your house. I have not seen you on the forum in a few days. Hope the Ice Man didn't cometh to take you and the Bat away.
Oh, girls, you would not believe how much I would love it if you all came here to live! What a ball we would all have, hustling and bustling our little SS selves into a cozy situation, then sitting back by the fire enjoying the fruits of our labors! And what good conversations we could have! Oh, dare to dream, gals.....
Here's what I've been thinking for this little book series of mine....the third book could be a modern day Foxfire, where I travel to all of your places and do a chapter on each of you! Each could demonstrate a learnable skill, photos could be taken of the step by step and pics of your homes and SS life could be included. How cool would that be? And I could get to meet everyone and everyone could get a cut of royalties....how neat would that be?
BBH, we are expecting more snow on Monday.... The Bat and I, plus Son #3, will be hauling second's lumber for firewood supplementing tomorrow and may even have to resort to sawing up my project lumber pile before the winter is through.
NEXT year, I will be more prepared! It's always next year, isn't it?
I really miss you gals....I've rigged up a temporary phone situation tonight so that I can try to catch up on your lives and all the news, but I won't be on much until this phone thingy is fixed. The phone guy called and said he visited, checked the box and found nothing wrong and said it must be my equipment.
I called the phone company and asked what house he visited, as it wasn't mine! Bat was there all day, no one came to our house, no tracks in the snow to our outside box...nothing! The lady at the company was quite apologetic about the whole thing, but this takes the cake! Thank God for snow and dogs that bark when folks come....we would know if a repair man came to our house.
Anyhoo....just glad to be back and see you all...even if it's only on here!
