Hauled the ewes to their old farm today and they went quietly and gently, which was a blessing for me. I couldn't have handled it if they were frantic and crying. They were placed immediately with a St. Croix ram and Black Betty was bred right there on the spot! :th

Little Moe was not interested in breeding, so I'm assuming she is not in season right now....true to her character, she was more interested in what food they had!

Poor Jake, my lonely only dog, was whining and pacing as yet another of his friends disappeared from the farm. I can only imagine what he is thinking~"Am I next???" :hide

It was a good day and a sad day....but it felt right to be doing. Now....the chickens.

How uncanny, Farm! Those were the exact words I said as I drove away from the farm..... :( My boy said, "What era?"

Men! :smack

I am feeling that exact feeling...the end of a chapter in my life and a big turning point. Usually I know a little about what the next page will hold...at least a little. Right now I am free falling without a thought in the world as to what God will lead me to next. It feels odd but not unpleasant. Just a little exciting, a little confusing and a little scary.

My little self-sufficient food system I had set up was sort of like my small security blanket and I felt pretty solid about having that resource.

Then I really got a strong urge to study about end times prophecy and to truly LOOK at the world outside my door~even if only a glimpse now and again~and I realized, I think, just what God was trying to show me.

There is no Earthly security that can be established by storing food, on the hoof or in the jar, nor will there be any way to keep what I have accumulated in the days to come.

The harvest He seems most interested in these days is a harvest and laying up of souls. I don't know just where or how I can be useful in that, but I'm willing to make myself available and to grow in faith along the way.

The preparation I am most interested in nowadays is for The Move. The move from this world into the next and just what would be of value for me to take along. For sure it will not be anything of material substance from this world but rather a laying up of treasures in the next.

Anyone else getting the feeling of just how transient we and our time on Earth are at this moment?

What about the mission field Bee?

With your nursing skills and your homesteading skills you would surely be a catch for some world saving organization. You know... go for the teaching skills part, but save some souls along the way. Lots of mission fields NEED your skill and your Christian heart. Plus you would get to travel - which I know you would love best.

The only bad part is that I would selfishly miss the crap out of you. :(

Hey Bee!

I see you got rid of the sheeples, thats good I suppose.

I agree with FF on two things. One you would be perfect for mission trips because of your SS skills and nursing skills, Two I would miss you and your posts here. :(

I've thought about that...frequently. I would sort of like to have a "home on my back" type lifestyle right now. Everything I own or need in a bag or two and just live each day for God...wouldn't that be the coolest thing for someone who has no one to come home to?

I may have a chance to go to Guatamala(sp?) for 10 days later on this year, all expenses paid, as a trip for my work place. Will be visiting a children's hospice home there....not sure why we are going there but it should be interesting and probably pretty sad.

I'm encouraging my middle son to go into some kind of mission field so as to use the gifts God gave him. He loves and is good at construction, is good with kids and old folks, works well with men of all kinds on the job and animals simply love him....was thinking of that program where one can donate a farm animal to some of these third world families and someone from the organization helps them learn animal husbandry and how to grow crops.

Who knows? I'm open to the possibilities and the sky is the limit...though there is little need for an LPN vs. and RN at these mission hospitals. I've never heard of LPN mission posts but I could certainly research it.

Really? What does she say about it? I'm interested in what exactly we can do to help these people besides coming for a visit.

She helps take care of children/babies at a shelter down there. She takes money (the schools wage war against each classroom to raise money) she takes that money down there. She says never drank their water. She also said they are very poor......
