Look at all the chickens in your yard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They're beautiful!!!!!

But I Think you need some more........... *snicker*

Lovely photos!

I'd love to live in a valley like Blue Grass Valley!

Tennessee is beautiful in some places like that. Oh how I wish we had just stayed and purchased some land there!

But, we're here now and making the best of it, and if we had stayed in TN I wouldn't have the wonderful friends I have here now. :D

I LOVE your sheeple picture! Soooo beautiful. :love

As for the "ugly fence" plant some pole beans on it or trellis some tomatoes (animals will leave those alone) on that fence and it will disappear.

Way ahead of ya, Farm! :D Going to plow a row around the perimeter of the fence and trellis all vines on it...and let the sheeples trim off the excess growth if they want.

I'd like to cut apart a cattle panel and create an arch over each gate so that I could trellis some birdhouse gourds and sweet pea vines.

Hey, Aly...I AM getting more chickens...in June! Getting some Speckled Sussex, RIR, Partridge Rocks and Barred Rocks...a total of 20 new layer chicks. I can't wait! :celebrate

I'll post pics of the same garden when it's full of greenery....you won't even be able to see that ugly ol' fence!

Or...I could paint the fence posts white... :p My dear ol' granny always said that everything looks better painted white! She used to paint the base of her trees and all her yard fencing white...even the rocks in the yard!

I think they used to lime trees back in the old days to prevent pests infestation but then folks just started to do it for looks. Funny, huh? Painting your trees every year....

They used to do that around here a long time ago as well. I confess I too have painted a tree in my day... but I painted with that sticky goop that catches bugs to keep the squirrels out of my fruit tree!

I do like the look of white posts in a fence. I also love sweet peas!! I planted scarlet runner beans last year for an ornamental and I am planing on planting some purple podded pole beans on the trellis with my clematis this year. They are pretty as well.

You have a beautiful place Bee. Fence included. I can see it supporting some veggies, and vines and flowers. The arches with the gourds are great too. A little paint is fine, but it doesn't really matter. You already have the stuff that matters. Good land to grow your food, healthy animals, and people that you love.

There are farms scattered down that valley with old houses that would make you drool....literal mansions...and most stand empty! :he

.
Hold on,.....here I come!

Why are they empty? Is this what some have talked about...people building a new spiffy house and just leaving the old to sit?

I want one :rant

Sending you a PM :)
Edited to add...you box is full!

I don't know why those houses are empty, Dace. It saddens me though, as they are very large and well-built with accompanying buildings and barns....with big old gates locked across the driveway.

There are two, in particular, that are humongous and sit at the top of the valley....a view of miles...I can't imagine how anyone could abandon such homes. They don't even run cattle on these places anymore.... :(

No spiffy houses next door,either....who knows the stories behind those houses? I'd like to know and I'd like to see inside...judging by the build, I would guess these places are spectacular inside.

DL, thanks!! :D I kind of like this place myself....it brings me peace.

I heard good news from the Bat today and wanted to thank you all for your prayers for my family and for her situation. She finally started letting God take control over these overwhelming conditions in her life and this was a good move. She called me with good news today and God is blessing her in so many ways....thank you all for the many prayers! God is so good! :)

I'm really glad I met all you great folks! :)
