Hey! Still have chickens next door??

Lori, we all were so excited that no one took any pics! We took the camera along but no pics that showed the bees and the transfer.

They are happily ensconced in their little red hive...one tried to chase me when I checked on them this morning!!

I hate it when I do that! I just saw an add on craigslist for a local beekeeper that removes hives. May be someone I need to look up in the future for some honey! Glad everything went well with the transfer and nobody got stung!!!

Wow, so you got the bees. I am so excited, and in AWE of you. I just dont think I have it in me...not for Bees!! Hubby would probably move out! LOL Now waite a minute...NO, that was wrong! LOL

I tell you what, J, me having bees is like me swimming in dark water.....panic abounds!!!

My Dad had always lived his life in a cage of fear and really inflicted a lot of that feeling on us kids. It kind of rubs off on you...fear of social situations, fear of trying something new, fear of looking silly or inept, fear of just about anything!

I knew from a young age that I didn't ever want to live my life like that so, if I find myself having irrational fears, I confront them and battle through.

I have systematically overcome many things I am fearful of doing and would like to have the chance to do more of the same....like skydiving (I'm scared of heights), like flying an airplane(again with the heights and I get pretty bad motion sickness), learning to surf(scared of deep, dark water with huge, teethed creatures swimming below), learning to paint and be thought an amatuer, write a book and risk rejection from the masses, traveling when you fear intense traffic conditions....well, you get the picture.

So...if I want honey and its expensive, if I want to help restore pollinators to the environment, if I want good pollination of my crops, and I want to engage in an ancient craft that millions have done since the beginning of time...I have to overcome this fear of bees. Even if I get stung...a lot.

I was thinking this evening that this time of year is when your property looks its finest...the grass is so new and green, the flowers start blooming, the birds are active and nesting, the chickens are pretty and fully feathered(no moult), trees green and lush, sheep clean and slick.

This is the time of year when I can't stop looking at everything and feeling my heart fill up with contentment and warmth. Even though there is tons to do, you know that the spring finery overshadows the scruffy edges of chores undone.

I LOVE spring!

Yes , but they have moved to their summer home in the alley. There are 11 girls. 10 are black and 1 looks like the late Sweet Baby Ray.

I would post pictures, but I don't know how . Somebody please give me a tutorial. Make it the "posting pictures for dummies version".

I have a new camera so the pictures are not clear, I need practice.

My old camera accidentally fell to the bottom of the Big Waterfalls in April, bounced three times on a big rock. I couldn't see risking life to retrieve it .
