BB, I figured you would adapt with ease, you are handy that way. ;)

My oldest is a great cook and will usually take time now and again to actually cook meals. The middle? No way.

As they were eating and their clothes were washing, they said, "This beats pizza rolls anytime!"

See? Its my turn to be the mom that boys come home to visit and find that old time comfort of good food, mama's love, clean clothes and advice. Plenty of advice..... :D

What a great feeling hu Bee?? My son who lives close....comes in the door, sets the baby on the couch, and heads straight for the fridge.... saying...." Mom, what leftovers you have in here I can eat?" LOL Makes me feel good that he wants our leftovers! :p I guess Dorothy had it right...from the Wizard of Oz....there's no place like home.;)

It is indeed! It felt great to laugh and play cards with them....like a fine, old wine. We vowed to do this more often and, as I looked around the table at the shining faces, I thought to myself, "This must be what Heaven looks like...I'm sure it looks a lot like love."

We are putting it towards the boy's living expenses....no sense in sitting around waiting for the bills to go overdue if you have some way of making a little cash, huh?
Now isn't that a great idea!! Only if everyone saw things that way.

Your pumpkins look beautiful. How are you storing the corn?

I can't wait to hear about the festival and your sale. You should do very well.

Thanks, Gina! :) We just shocked the corn and layed it on top of my hay for now but I planned on hanging it from the rafters...until I discovered that my rafters were not conducive to this method. I'm still figuring on that one. :hu

We have corn in bundles that is on top of the hay stacks in our small leanto barn, in the dog barn and our broody pen is full.

I will also be storing some pumpkins in the broody pen and some in the attic when it cools down here....whenever that may be.... :(

Temps in the 100s today.... :he :th

I'll take some pics of my lovely apples...never saw them this big or nice before! Go figure! :p

I planted several varieties but only a few came up in this drought. I planted Snack Jacks, Red Warty Things, Batwings, Howden, and Rouge Vif D'Etampes (sp?) AKA Cinderella pumpkins. I also planted several types of winter gourds that flowered and flowered but did not yield anything.

The varieties you see are the Batwings, Howden, and Cinderella type.

I'll be off here for awhile, folks....watch my back for me? ;) I've got many things to tend to and it would be nice if you all watched my guest house for me so no intruders enter here.

Thanks! :)
