Anyways, with as much as your little ones are outside they will learn that is the place to go. It's just gonna take a bit of time.
This is true, they will prefer grass to go on, potty training is about when they realize how the door gets opened so they can get on the grass.

When they mature they will "get it". ;) Keep showing them repeatedly.

Bee if you want to have them in for only short times I'd suggest confining their choices of area so it's easy to keep an eye on them, and they get the idea that there is not a potty inside, just a home. I know what you mean about crate training, it's great if you plan on keeping the dogs in, they do their time there and then go outside so they 'get it', pee outside, but if they are just in for a bit it's not so clear.

Anyway I'd close all the doors to the bedrooms and bathrooms so they have to be near you, in sight preferably, or tether them to an area so they are in sight and consider that their play or bed area. Gradually after you see them getting it right expand the area. Also if you see a place outside that they go often use a command when you see them doing that, and then praise. Then before you bring them in take them there, give your command and praise any results. If you catch them making a mess in the house scold and take them directly out to the spot and then in the happy voice give the command, praise results. Be very gradual in the time inside that you expect of them without accidents, at first make them very short visits, an hour is a long time at that age. Engage them at first totally so if they sniff about or wonder circles like in prep for the toilet take them directly out to their spot.

I had one male that also did the anytime, anywhere thing and this was very effective for him. I combined it with kennel training, took him to one spot after being in the kennel and then when he got it he was perfect. He was a SAR dog so I had to have him get this right, only scent exactly where told, and as I used him for lots of demos he had to be good in parks and shopping malls.

That is a relief to know all of that...I was afraid that I was seriously confusing the pooches by having them indoors for visits and trying to correct their potty behaviours but outdoors they can go anywhere they wish. I didn't want them to associate the house as a bad place.

Thank you all for all the tips...I seriously had no idea how to proceed with these pups on potty training if I weren't able to be consistent. :thumbsup

They really do seem to know the correction voice already and I hope I can do this right....I just don't want socially impaired pups if I have to travel with them.

He Bee, I just want to stop by and let you know I just canned two really tasty quarts of unfiltered apple juice. :woot

I didn't want to take the time to set up a filtering step because I only ended up with two quarts.

But the juicer worked great. What other juices are good to can? I guess that just depends on whats in season and cheap huh?

Anyways, thanks.

We've done tomato and grape juice also. I'd say that any citric juice would keep well in canning. I simply LOVE home canned juice! :drool

I wanted to try to make my own V-8 this year but my garden tanked...... :( I still wanna try it, though, because I LOVE V-8!!!

Yeah....you gather grapes and juice them. Back when we did this, though, we didn't have a juicer...or electricity, for that matter. :p We just strained them through a strainer and canned the juice.

One could even do this with any kind of berry or cherry. Or even make a blend of juices.

I ordered some music off Amazon at really cheap prices and have been really enjoying what I found. I know this is really going to date me but I have been missing certain music that they don't really play much on the radio in these parts.

I'm going to keep going until I have all the music I used to love!

This week I got John Denver's Greatest Hits, The Best of Bread, The Best of the Allman Brother's Band.

I already have so many CDs of the 70s music but I can never get enough of it...so many good bands and artists from that era.

Wasn't John Denver such a cutey pie back then? :love

We were lucky when I was working in your parts. Our rental had satellite radio.
