Thanks guys!!! I'm so excited that it's not even funny! We've never done juried shows before because we didn't think anything would make it... This was apparently a juried thing, and they actually voted for my stuff to accept it!!! It makes me proud that something I make was actually accepted by several people. It also gives me a little bit of courage to maybe enter a larger, juried show!! I'm so glad that I didn't realize that it was juried before I entered, because I wouldn't have even tried had I known!

:thumbsup That would be so cool! Now you know that your soap can stand against anybody's in a judged show too!

Ok, new plans are made and the birds will be coming tomorrow morning. She's getting about 15 eggs per day, and the little group of hens aren't laying yet. THAT will be nice. There are some leghorns, some brahmas, some barred rocks, a wyandott and I think that might be it, lol. A dog had attacked her birds when they were ranging, so she cannot leave them out to range, so she's getting rid of them. She's talking about keeping three or four of the hens that she's more attached to, because at least they'd have more space in their pen with everyone else gone, even if they cannot free-range. It'll be nice having layers around though! Her rooster is absolutely gorgeous too. She's getting white and brown eggs, which would compliment the blue eggs that'll eventually come from the Ameraucanas.

Does anyone know about how long it takes before they'll start laying again after the move?

Well, the new birds are here. The fence is finally up in the garden too. Bought it last night, but it was too dark and I was too beat after spreading the load of compost. But, it's up now, so I'm going to have to get out there today to put seed in. I sure hope that everything flourishes now that it's not getting attacked by all of the birds. The new chickens are kind of neat. She brought twenty four over, with two being roosters. One's a leghorn and the other, I'm not sure about, but he's gorgeous. I might have to get rid of one of them though. The big roo was eating out of my hand and was being calm and gentle, but the leghorn crowed and the one that was eating out of my hand attacked. Scared me more than anything, but I slammed him back and he settled down, so hopefully they settle down. I'm also hoping for some eggs this morning, lol. I figure they'll stop laying for awhile until they get used to everything, but hopefully they pick back up quickly. She's also bringing over some feed that she has left over, so hopefully it's a decent amount, lol. She said I could have the coop as well, if we could figure out how to get it here. That'd be awesome, if we move to a place that doesn't have a shed or something already there. Everyone is locked up for now (the newbies) except for five that scrambled when we were unloading them. They're out in the bushes digging up the leaves and such that were too deep for my younger birds to get through. :D

ETA: One egg so far and another one is in the nesting area. I'll have to make some more nesting areas up for them though, because if I'm having 15 chickens laying each day, I can't have only one spot. The only things I've ever had lay eggs before were quail, so this is super exciting for me, lol.

I'm sure eggs are old news to most people, but I'm so excited to be finding them out there. This is the first time I've had eggs besides quail eggs, so they're extra special to me. Not only because they're my first chicken eggs (or eggs that're really worth eating to be honest), but I haven't been able to go buy REAL eggs for awhile, so I haven't eaten breakfast in about a month now, because I can't bring myself to choke down store eggs. I've already eaten two eggs and have three more collected. They're even better than the eggs I used to buy from the auction and even from the little farm here, because those eggs were all from penned chickens. These are true free-range, and you can definitely taste the difference, even from the farm eggs that taste five times better than store eggs... These are like pure gold!

Lol. Thanks guys! I'm glad I'm not just plum crazy, lol. We ended the day with eight eggs. There might have been more laid, because the eighth egg was found in the bush by George. He was looking for any other chickens, and comes back and hands me an egg, lol.
