cool...I tried potatoes once but they didn't do well at all. Gonna try again for sweet potatoes next year.

My parents have had amazing succes with sweet potatoes in Kansas.
Dad is actually growing them on top of the ground now, with coverage, rather then digging them in.
OK, I want info on that.

Speaking of sweet potatoes...our harvest was bountiful. LOTS OF SWEET POTATOES!

BBrooks, how cold DOES it get up there?? I'm amazed you have anything growing up there even under your cold frames. The coldest I've experienced was a few years ago when we had -60.

How are the goats? Have you fallen in love yet? :lol:
Are you continuing to milk those two then? How are they coming along?

Oh, my mistake, I read Wifezilla's post and thought it was yours!

Very cool! I've been there, and I have a brother who lives in Ely, a bit further north than Virginia, it's beautiful up there!! We take a trip up at least as far as Grand Rapids each year. Oh to live up in those trees!
