It looks as though the rain has passed. :fl The wind continues, but is forecast to die down this afternoon. Saw snow on the mountain above town when I opened the curtains this morning and when I took the dog out I could see that Joshua Tree Natl. Park looks like it got quite a blanket of snow. I can see the top of the Northern rim of the park from here and I've never seen it so covered in snow! :ep I wish I had a running vehicle! I would love to drive over to the Village of Joshua Tree or to Yucca Valley to see it better. Today will be another indoor day. Gonna bake some more bread and maybe some sugar cookies.

Have a great day everyone! :thumbsup

When I was putting together my personal page here on SS, there were some before pics of the house that I could not find. Well, this morning I got the crazy idea to look through all my "sent" emails and low and behold! there they were! I had sent pics to a friend in Hawai'i and the email was still there with the attachments!! :ya

So, now I am going to share them with y'all! I'll update my page ( http://www.sufficientself.com/web/viewblog.php?id=4399 ) later....

Here is what this place looked like when we first bought it...

We replaced all the windows. Two disgusting layers of shingles as siding... What a pain in the @$$ to pull off!

The kitchen... The guy we bought it from had done all the drywall a few months earlier as he was planning to use it as a rental.

You are so welcome, dear! Y'all should be very proud! ;)

When we first moved to our place, I told doc that I'd be happy living in the camper for 5 years, no sweat on getting the cabin built "tomorrow". This is our 3rd winter and I think I lied about that 5-year-plan that I came up with!

I felt the same way when we first bought this place. I was just so happy to finally own my own piece of property, to which I could do anything I wanted that I was prepared to live out of a cooler and cook over an open fire! That's how we did it in Samoa! But, now I sure am glad we have what we have! :p
