Too funny about the coyote and I'm only laughing because you're okay!

Thanks for posting the article about your area. It definately looks like a place that we'd enjoy visiting!

The wind and rain are here!! I made sure that everything was tied down or put away. I don't want to have to go on a scavenger hunt in the morning!! All but 1 of the chickens thought it might be a good idea to sleep inside tonight. Crazy Bird!! :gig

We're supposed to get the wind today as well. Plus, it's supposed to be colder. While it had been too hot, I don't really want temps back in the 50s. :hit

Well we survived!! The wind was crazy!! Not a lot of rain, but boy was it cold and windy!! I thought I had tied everything down pretty well, but this morning I had to go retrieve the dog's travel kennel and some chicken wire that had gotten blown several hundred feet toward the back of the property. Fortunately the wind died down about midnight and today was a beautiful, warm day. I spotted a few early wildflowers popping up while walking the dog this morning! Another week or two and I think we'll be seeing lots of yellow and white ribboning the area. Pics to follow as soon as they bloom!

I think my girls were going through a mini-molt. They are all getting new feathers and looking much better than they did a few weeks ago! They are loving their daily mealworm treats! I think I may have figured out my mealworm farm setup. We had an old non-functioning dehydrator that I think will work very well for a start. All I can do is try it. I'll post pics of that as well soon.

Hope all is well in your neck of the woods!

Glad to hear ya didn't blow away! :hugs

We're tired of the wind, as well, but once summer "officially" hits and it gets hot, humid and still we'll be wishing for it to blow! Just can't win!

I'm so glad we don't have to deal with humidity out here for most of the summer and that there is usually a steady light breeze because of the way we are situated in this basin.

Now, come late July/early August we'll be in monsoon season and the humidity will be ridiculous!! Not to mention the torrential rains and flash flooding!!

:yuckyuck

Almost needed one last year! Luckily, the flood turned down the road and cut through the property next door. We were, however, unable to get out to the main road for several days. Had to have someone come and re-grade the road!

Oooo, very interested in seeing your mealworm set up! If it works, I'm going to have to start checking the thrift stores/transfer stations for broken dehydrators! ;)
