do you have any "scratch n dent " stores near you.

we have Hendricks which gets scratched ones and the savings is huge.......I got 3 refrigs (lowe's was selling for $680 each) and I got them for $300 each.

I did very well and the scratches, like no bigger than a thumb nail scratch.....I wondered if they dropped off the back of a turnip truck but I sure got a deal.

do you prefer top loader or front loader. they say front is better, less water usage and all?
but of course the price stinks..HA HA

Hello all, I'm back. We went to the park for an hour. I must admit the sun is out and it's quite nice. We played for a bit and I was the party pooper who needed to come home and do chores. I promised we would do a picnic tomorrow.

Pam I had a friend who went to Lowe's and paid for a dented machine that was on clearance. When her husband went to pick it up they cold not find it. so they gave her a new one. Talk about luck.

I currently have a front loader. I think we paid $1200 for the washer and dryer set at Sears. They were scratch and dent. They were the biggest ones on the market at the time when we bought them...that was 5 years ago I think.
DH wants me to look into the stacked washer dryer units like used for apartments but they are more than what I want to pay too! The fact that DH is all for it is a huge plus in my favor so now it is just a matter of finding one in my price range. I still want a chest freezer to but I think that is going to have to wait until fall because we really are not going to be putting anymore large quantities of food in it 'til then. So, that will give me a lot more time to save for one of them.

That would rock!!! Only my van is big enough that we would be able to unfasten a couple of the seats and it would fit in!

I checked out your chicken pics
nice birds definitely!
do you hatch yourself? I never owned roosters except when we raised game birds.
I owned a few roosters early on when we hatched our own, but I buy 16 week old pullets now for replacement birds so no roosters on the property.

Have you tried a rent a center place? MY sil got 1 year old front loader washer and dryer for $600 or $700 total.

We got our 1 year old stove (electric glass top) and refrigerator for $500 total.
