Thanks ladies! These are my favorite chickens I have ever raised. They are really calm which is nice since they are so big.
I have hatched my own eggs a couple of times. These chickens just started laying. I plan on putting some of these eggs in the 'bator in a couple days (after the quail eggs are out and hopefully they hatch!) if my brother will watch the 'bator and turn them for me. If he won't then I will put some in right after I have the baby.
I plan on hatching over 100 chicks this year!!!! I would like to have some pullets to sell in the summer when people have chick fever. Then I would like to try to sell some peeps. Then I want to add about 5 more layers and put 50 chickens in the freezer. My goal is to sell the pullets and put the roos in the freezer. All the $$ I get out of peeps and pullets is going toward goats. If I earn the $$ for them then DH can not say no!
My ONLY complaint about the BJG is that they take SO long to start laying! They are six months old and they still are not all laying everyday. But, I have read that they are not even done growing or reached their full potential in egg size until they are 18-24 months old!!

I currently have a front loader. I think we paid $1200 for the washer and dryer set at Sears. They were scratch and dent. They were the biggest ones on the market at the time when we bought them...that was 5 years ago I think.
DH wants me to look into the stacked washer dryer units like used for apartments but they are more than what I want to pay too! The fact that DH is all for it is a huge plus in my favor so now it is just a matter of finding one in my price range. I still want a chest freezer to but I think that is going to have to wait until fall because we really are not going to be putting anymore large quantities of food in it 'til then. So, that will give me a lot more time to save for one of them.
Have you tried a rent a center place? MY sil got 1 year old front loader washer and dryer for $600 or $700 total.

We got our 1 year old stove (electric glass top) and refrigerator for $500 total.
I will have to check that out!

Anyone hanging out this evening??
Two of the boys are watching a movie in the bedroom. Two are playing Wii. DD is playing with her My Little Ponies. DH went to bed around 6:30 because he could not keep his eyes open any longer.

Goodnight H23 - Sleep tight and don't let the bedbugs bite.
(My dad said that to me up until the day he died) I have not said it in years. Felt good to say that.
If they bite you bite'em back.
