Another foot for us... tossed down on a sheet of ice :rant

Normal for us though... to have everything on the roads turn into ice for Christmas.

It was too cold for the new snow to weld to the ice... I had to do the ice shuffle to and from church today... I wore my great spiked shoes... BUT they are a tad too short for a foot of new snow ... ah well... my feet stayed warm anyway.

Great pics, same here ice, we had a light dusting early this morning, DH made it down the hill with the car but will leave it at the bottom,
Yesterday he walked down to get the mail and almost couldn't get back up, he said he has cleats but wasn't sure where they were,
That will be tomorrow's task, find the cleats😳

I had to crawl back home from church on Sunday... I hadn't worn my spiked boots.

I didn't have to crawl the entire way... just the one bit where I had to cross the road.

I usually celebrate New Years. Last year DS14 ate the candy I'd bought for a New Years party (we were in self-imposed lockdown during the worst COVID peak so everything was ordered/purchased months in advance). I don't remember what my kids got all upset about but there was fighting, DH gave up an went to bed early and it was generally a fiasco. This year... meh. Too busy to decorate, too much junk food, and I'm struggling to get DS6 on an appropriate sleep schedule for going back to school next week. 😫

Well I believe we have enough bovines for now. Hopefully one or both, will throw a bull to band, that would be nice. Then I won't have to purchase a steer this spring. I just need to fence in the adjoining approximately 5 acres for pasture rotation.

Next is goats and hair sheep, after I get around the pond fenced in with 4" woven wire. I'm looking seriously at boer goat breed, probobly not full blood but a cross and Katahdin hair sheep, again most likely not full blooded but a cross. But only Almighty knows, so we'll cross that bridge when we get there. Still a lot of work to do first.

Jesus is Lord and Christ 🙏❤️🇺🇸

Freezing here too -9 deg F but feels like -27.

I am still under the covers, DH had to work so I know he built up the fire at 3 am. I do not want to go out and do chores. Our high today is supposed to be -3 but feel like -teens all day.
