I must be crazy. I’m so ready to leave my jewel of a small farm, for a small house on small acreage, perched on the side of a busy 2 lane highway. And from there, who knows?
New beginnings are exciting!!

You will open the door... and see.... what?

Only time will tell.

Can you just come over and talk to DS14 for me? Because I say this and he give me teenage face.
I usually went over the stuff the kids hated to hear when we were driving... since then they can't run off. ;)

But I would go over that virtues and vices are just like muscles. So... if you practice lying, you get better at lying, and telling the truth becomes more difficult.

If he says he will do X, then doesn't do X... my consequence for that was always that they were then stuck being within eyeshot of me. if I can't trust them to do what they say they will do... then I can't trust anything they say... so I must always be able to see them... at all times... bathroom door can be closed for 5 minutes... after that it must be opened.... but zero privacy until I feel that I can trust them. Usually that happens after a day or three... they get "released" when they work hard, clean hard, and respond respectfully.

The more I trust them, the more privileges they get... the less I trust them, the fewer.

At the same time though..... kids are not programmable robots.... there are some things that you might have reviewed every single day since birth.... and they will totally ignore it and go the other way.

You do your best. :hugs

now as of the 31st retired from retirement:gig
I forgot to ask...he got a job?

They don't come that small,
No I do not like goat milk

Have you had fresh goat milk? It is so much better than the stuff in the store.

Also, higher fat goat milk tastes different from lower fat stuff.... and what they eat changes the taste... and if they are low in minerals the milk can be bitter....

Lots of variability.

We found we had to drink it fast... it turns more "goat" tasting the older it is.. Also, if you get it super cold super fast... it tastes fresh for longer. We never pasteurized ours... not sure how that changes things.

But yes.... goat milk isn't cow milk.

Personally I always wanted to try sheep milk. I like sheep cheese more than goat cheese... so thought I might like the milk more...but that wasn't an option up here.
