I forgot to ask...he got a job?

Have you had fresh goat milk?

He retired in2012 from 31 years in LE, then in 2014 he got a part time job, which he re-retired from

Yes, my babies could only have fresh goat milk, they were allergic to cow milk

I thought my second was allergic to cows milk... he was fine with goat...

Turns out he is celiac... once we cut out all gluten... his gut healed and he could drink cow milk just fine...

We still had goats for years... hoping the raw milk would help them...

I wanted to let everyone know, I won't be participating for a while. Sorry but no more captioned moo pictures for a while... I know... Boo, hiss and all that, sorry...

It's nothing anyone here did. I've been feeling pretty bad for quite a long time. Now that my body has healed from adverse reaction to a prescription medication and I have my super energy back \o/ I just need to get busy doing what needs doing.

OK... I hear you, just one more moo pic.

What is this stuff? it's totally amooazing.

I have been over on the BYH site reading up on cows, I am a 5 foot and 1/4 inch tall Grandma,
I have all I can handle with 2 100lb Rottweilers
I really don't think I need a 400lb + cow
I agree. I’ve had cows, I like cows. But I’m not 40 anymore. I still think I can do everything but walk on water, but reality strikes. I’m 66, 5’7” weigh 135 pounds. I no longer wish to deal with a ton of locomotive engine on 4 hooves. (Bull)

That’s why I have hair sheep. Rams can be dangerous, that’s why I have Ringo, he’s a sweetheart. Hair sheep can browse or graze. They don’t need shearing. I’ve had them for 7 years and never pulled a lamb. I love my sheep.

If it’s milk you want, get a couple of goats. There are many breeds to choose from. I like @frustratedearthmother ‘a way of milking. She doesn’t pull the babies and she’s not strict about weaning. If she wants milk, she pens the goat up overnight, milks, turns out in the morning. If she doesn’t want to milk, the doe is with her baby and milking is not critical. FEM do I have that right?

Small livestock is growing in importance on small farms.

@CrealCritter i do hope you take time over your morning coffee to check in with us!

Good morning sunshine! Actually rain here, but somebody has sunshine today!

@FarmerJamie im sorry that both of you have Covid, while praising the Lord that y’all are feeling better. Get up, WALK, and be as active as you can. It will help keep pneumonia away. Eat, even though nothing tastes good and you have no sense of smell. Of all things, I could eat frozen Leggo waffles and orange juice. LOL I hope y’all continue to improve.

I got the crap piles OUT of the house except the pile of sheetrock. It looks so much better!

I now have all the living room walls painted and cut in. This morning I’ll be painting trim. It’s tedious and the idiot that put it in didn’t paint it first as told to. So it takes 3 coats to look like I want it. Found the closet doors that son thought were gone. If I have time, I’ll put them on sawhorses and paint them too.

No longer a walk through hole in my room! And Chris the carpenter, put T-1-11 over the carport opening and took down the tin. Put new T-1-11 siding on the west outside wall, it looks good. It all needs painting!

Good news is, I can start bringing big pieces with me. I’m making progress!
