Bad storms last night. Tornadoes, heavy rain, power lines and trees across roads. Nearest tornado to me was 30 miles away. Ok here, still raining.
Glad you are OK, I read about it last night.Bad storms last night. Tornadoes, heavy rain, power lines and trees across roads. Nearest tornado to me was 30 miles away. Ok here, still raining.
I would eventually like to build one or more. But I have to many irons in the fire right now. There are lots of info and plans out there.I used to have a birdhouse for Martins. I liked to watch them fly around in the afternoon. It was disappointing when we had to change out the house. The first one was wooden but it rotted out. The next one was sheet metal which we thought we were being smart but I don’t think the birds cared for the new house and the heat. We had less birds but I think there was a storm that hit South America that year. I have wondered if I couldn’t just use birdhouse gourds instead.
We invested a lot of time and money in something that just rotted. We did get some use of it a few years though. It’s just I wonder if I couldn’t do something with 15 ounce cans fastened together somehow and have the perfect size holes cut out and sanded and maybe cover it with cool seal for protection and heat. Like make something out of junk.
Interesting articleI'm not on the Purple Martin bandwagon even though I do enjoy watching them sweep around the skies.
