Thank you all! It has been a day. I keep looking at her bed thinking I see her :(

Anyway, colder weather is here for the weekend, which is ok as I just want to stay in and snuggle with the kids, bake and watch holiday movies-yep lazy weekend here.

Next week is back into the 60s, we will be hauling and stacking wood-we just did 3 face cords on Wednesday, gonna be a cold winter.

I wish I had someone to scrub the kitchen floor and the shower, those are my least favorite inside chores to do-lol.

just added wood to the fire and grabbed a cup of coffee---Saturday my only day to sleep in (if you call 6:30 am sleeping in-I sure do). Cold and rainy today, feels like 29F outside right now and I am not wanting to go out and let the chickens out, a couple more minutes won't hurt them.

I heard TX got hit really hard by tornados and bad weather last night, I hope all of you are ok!

Today, will be more inside work than outside. I have some things to go through and make piles for the thrift store and garbage and then pack some away. I have laundry to do, a good dusting is needed and vacuum all the rooms. Yesterday I made bread, today will be some brownies, bars and muffins. I will freeze half for quick grabs later. Might throw a roast in the crockpot too with some pepperoncinis, butter and dry au jus mix-YUM (Mississippi Roast).

I have a good book I am going to settle in with today, my youngest is leaving for a friend's house and sleepover and my oldest will likely hang with her boyfriend at some point and DH is working, so a blanket and a book it is-likely with a cup of tea!

Hope you all have a great day, be thankful for all you have, help someone if you can, and smile.

@Grandmas Porch Snow?! I am so sorry...really I am. It is too early (really it isn't but it should be).

Morning all, my internal clock had me up earlier as well. Daylight savings time...needs to go and nature needs to rule the time as it does the seasons. But what do I know.

Took oldest shopping at Aldi's yesterday she was amazed at how much stuff costs. Good for her to see and then she will understand why I say "no" to the junk we don't need. $3.10 for a dozen eggs! I went home and thanked my chickens. I can buy most of my items there (which for those of you that dont have one it is a cheaper version of WalMart-well most stuff anyway). I still need to go to Walmart for somethings. I don't want to support them but the local grocery store is literally 50% or more of an increase on everything and every penny saved is a penny earned.

We have to shop where we can get the best price, I can get ground beef, chicken, 1/2&1/2, cheese, butter, TP, laundry soap, coffee, paper towels, cheaper at costco-- dry goods I get at walmart, I still have kale, arugula in the garden if we want a salad or I will get some sprouts going in my sprouting trays, I have to buy eggs due to the chicks are only 16weeks, wilcox 24ct brown eggs are I think 6$ish, I cant remember. I try not to put a lot in the freezer cuz the power goes out a lot here. We dont buy snacks but I do keep pop corn on hand. I only buy for meals. At this house last Dec. it snowed 3 feet at Christmas, the young folks that lived here couldn't get out of the driveway and down the road. They were in for 3 weeks. So, plan for the worst and pray for the best.

I am going to the kitchen now, I think I'll thaw a chicken out and some ground meat. I'll make a meatloaf later today and the chicken tomorrow. I think with the leftover chicken I'll make some homemade noodles and do up some soup. thats always good for lunches.
