Good Moring my fellow members! Pot O'Joe is almost gone come get ya some! It's 26 here right now at 6:19AM, been up since 3:45. Tried to lay down after FH left for work but I couldn't fall back to sleep so figured I would check out the "news" on here.
Baymule, all your sheep is pretty but I especially like the white one. She's in my prayers and I hope that her legs are straight by Sat and if not hopefully that family will keep her therapy going.

So your giving the white lamb away, good on you 👍

Jesus is Lord and Christ 🙏❤️🇺🇸
I’ll be gone for a week and need someone to care for her. After caring for her for a week, there is no way I’d go take that lamb away from that family. Nope. Not me! I’ll care for her, make sure she is on the bottle good and take her to her new family. I hope her mom doesn’t completely reject her now, because I want to put her outside in the pen during the day for exercise. She needs to be up and walking as much as possible.

She survived the night and has had a bottle. I have to be at therapy at 7:30 and I’ll put her in the pen before I leave. Hope Frimplepants doesn’t reject her, ewes can be brutal, knocking lambs away.

I wanted to add this video on belted galloway cattle. It gives some traits of the breed and my limited experience is they would be great for homesteading. This is also mentioned in the video.

The video seems pretty accurate, except for when he says "They have been described as the only cattle that will fatten on a parking lot" - that is obviously a LIE! They don't eat automobiles, rocks, cement or blacktop 🙄

Long term, after our black angus and brangus steers are processed. We will try and raise belted galloway exclusively for meat and a little milk. But I enjoy their personalities the most.

Those are so pretty. I understand y'all got to live and do whats right for y'all but why not keep a bull and heifer so that way you will always have one or two and go from there.
They are kind of unique with the white band. They are easy to spot from a distance.

We do have 1 cow (oreo) and 2 hefiers (bessey & daisy), we just recently brought in a young red bull (romeo). All are belted galloway, to so some degree or another. We are not really interested in developing "pure breed" herd. Just a healthy tiny herd for meat and a little milk production. We would like to maintain a maximum of 7 head, so a tiny heard.

We are blessed to have them 👆

The comment was meant tongue in cheek... meaning they are easy keepers....

Good Morning All! I did make the air fryer brownies and FH loved them!!! I think I found a new way to bake brownies (DIDN'T USE A BOX MIX either) instead of using the oven. I don't know how many of you have an air fryer but I'm thinking about making a thread that's just for Air Fryer cooking. Of course y'all might have to adjust the temp and time for the particular brand of air fryer you have, what do you think? HONEST OPINIONS only Please!!!
There's coffee but save FH some so he doesn't turn into a grumpy ol bear who just woke from a long winters nap !!!
