Comfrey Bocking 4 &14 are sterile so only root propagation. Any tiny root! So yes, put where you want it because difficult to totally move! But it's a great fertilizer and you can cut off leaves to place around your trees.....medicinal uses are good. The leaves are high protein, animals love them. I'm planting more now. Have to fence it off from goats and chickens to keep them growing until I WANT to harvest

Today is starting well -- hope that continues. 🤣👍
YES!!
I give to my chickens
use in compost
dry it

YES! you can cut leaves and stems and just plant them!!!
I LOVETHIS STUFF----

I have woven wire on t-posts around the orchard trees for deer detergent. The orchard is in mow, so the lawn mower would control comfrey spread. What you think?

I used PVC tubing that was left on the property when we bought it, and field tape--I'll take a pic of my mini orchard that is just to the left of the corn later when I go down to water the corn.

Coffee is ready. We are under excessive heat warning. Heat, humidity are combining to make for dangerous conditions. Animals are miserable, I’m miserable but I can go inside for cooling down. I keep plenty of water out for the sheep and dogs. Buford goes swimming in the pond 6-8 times a day. Sentry and Sheba act like they will die if water gets on them. Buford is happy as a duck. If this is any indication of the rest of the summer, it’s going to be bad.

Yep - excessive heat warning here too. I get the alerts on my phone at around 3am every morning lately. Why? Why do you have to wake me up to tell me it's going to be hot. I KNOW it's going to be hot, and muggy and miserable. Guess it's back to two-a-day showers until November...

i recommend growing it some other place than the orchard and if you then want to use the leaves as fertilizer then you can cut and spread it in the orchard but then you don't have to worry about it being too demanding and competing with the trees.

I think I'm gonna give comfrey a try under a few orchard trees. If you watched the video she mentions some benefits. Anything has to be better than removing the fencing off the t-posts, weed whacking and hand pulling weeds from around the trunk. Then replacing the fencing.
