Dry here, too! The just made hay on this road was overgrown, over mature -- thanks to "some" rains every few days when it needed to be cut. We ARE supposed to get a decent rain tomorrow night thru Thurs. Part of those huge storms in SE now, moving our way. We need the rain. Ground is dry, deep down.

I'm ready to water some limited areas if rains don't come soon. Still some unused pastures that will/do help with forage but, not same nutrition, so slow weight gains....and more grain supplementing $$. It's life in the fast lane, so the saying goes. Doesn't make me like it!

Better get outta here and DO SOMETHING!!

@CrealCritter I cannot ever remember a forecast with the word Dreary in it either... Didn't think it fit in with the rhetoric....

DS is supposed to be baling the hay I finished raking yesterday. I cannot remember when we have had so little humidity for days on end that the hay is cut one day, and ready to rake the next and bale the next day. I can remember that as a kid in CT when I used to help a neighbor... all us kids would go help... got paid a little to lift all those square bales onto the wagons and such... it was FUN and EXCITING to do back then... plus it was a whole bunch of kids get together kind of thing...
Hay is drying out fast and the quality is down. Beats snowballs in winter. We are hoping this rain does come on so we get some decent 2nd cutting. 2/3 normal crop so far for 1st cutting. At least we are not having to deal with it getting wet this year.

It is partly sunny/cloudy... we are still getting that haze from the Canadian fires. but the low that is working it's way north, is supposed to bring us showers later this afternoon.

Was 62 overnight... warmest it has been at night so far this month. Been only 50's all month except for 2 nights it hit 61 or 62... not conducive to the warm weather plants... tomatoes are sitting there like.... you want me to grow and produce what????

Our tomatoes and peppers went on strike until it gets warmer at night. I can't ever remember having problems with tomatoes and peppers before. Usually I can't keep up with them.

Hot, humid here. Chance of rain is forecasted darn near every day, but it’s not happening. Where do the weather liars get this idea of “chance” of rain?

probably from the same place ours does... the bin of "A few miles either way."

plus remember that someplace is always the edge. do you recall it raining on one side of the house or the other but not the other?

yes, feels great on a cold damp day, we'll be 47 by 3am o_O

I am off to bed, its only 7;15 but I am tired, 'll get up at dark and close the coop door, I have had it open only wide enough for a chicken to go in and out in the day but with our low temps at night I want to keep the new chicks as warm as I can.
