I love the smell of coffee....fresh ground beans 🥰 it's lovely. Almost as good as the first cup each morning.

Just got home from work. I'm thinking a cup of hot tea, cream & sugar....then, I'll make another batch of cheese. Had put 2 gal of ice cold milk in a pot to sit until I got home. Room temp, now I'll make cheese -- and enjoy my tea as the milk heats to 185*👍
Scooped a couple tsp of cream off top first!! 😁 :drool

It's raining still -- YES!! :celebrate last night, all day & tomorrow.

Sky water here too for the last 3 days... chilly today, 61 to 63 down to 56... wore a long sleeved T shirt and a sweatshirt all day also. Did put down some mulch between potato rows this morning... got more done than I thought... need some WARMER temps for things to get growing though. Potatoes look good, tomatoes are sitting there like "REALLY"????.... beans are coming along if I keep the varmints out of them... onion plants did not do as good this year so will be fewer of them... peppers just sitting there... some growth but no flowers on them or the tomatoes...

Good Morning all! No coffee this am, yesterday FH had told me he drink a cup when he got home then realized it was going to be after 6 so he decided he didn't want any AND I HAD IT MADE ALREADY so I just reheated it when I got up at 2.
I know I done disappeared for a few days but last Friday (June 16) Savage had surgery (GOT FIXED) and on top of that I'm getting plans together for a wedding (YUP, it's ME!!!!), it's going to happen in the fall so trying to get a vendor, caterer and all that other stuff plus figure out decorations, color theme and agree with FH on a date.

Congratulations @Country homesteader !!

It’s hot here, weather liars keep talking about a heat dome. Got a half inch of rain earlier this week, it helped. I got roof shingles yesterday, gonna get started on Saturday morning. Will probably only work from 6:30 AM to 11 or 12, then have to quit, it will just be too hot.
On second cup of coffee, then outside to check on new arrivals from yesterday.

Butterfly had a pretty ewe lamb, black with white back legs. That makes 31 ewes for next year.

Tiny had twin ram lambs. Was hoping for a ewe from her, maybe next year. The rams will go to auction. I have 10 brand new lambs now, 4 are ewes and will be added to the flock, rams will be sold.

I do occasionally, by default. Excess roos that hatch...sometimes I just sell them  the butchering part is so dismal. @baymule has been raising them, from purchased chicks, for years.
well, the farm I get my beef and pork from sells chickens, they are between $18 - $23 a chicken
So, I think if we eat chicken twice a month just us thats 24, and in planning for extra?, round up to 30 meat birds.
I need minimum 8 laying hens and they dont lay everyday, 3 will be the broody hens
:caf chicken math :gig

Averaging 20 a bird, that's $600. I just can't get comfortable with that price to buy. Don't get me wrong, it's worth that if I sell!  :old

When I totally quit working, I'll embrace butchering more.🤣. Still, for things bigger than poultry, I take to a certified butcher for a "kill & chill". Bring home for further processing...cut, grind, packaging. Never know when that might change! I'd gladly partner with another & share the dirty part too. I've done it before!🤫👍

Congratulations @Country homesteader !!
Thank you @baymule
I just wish FH would have let me get a head start on all this last year then my mind wouldn't be a jumbled mess right now!!! I feel like it's going to be rushed and not look so pretty, nobody will enjoy or like it. My nerves are a mess already and yes I understand that as whatever date we pick gets closer they are just going to get worse.
