Sorry, @Country homesteader , I am seeing a lot of red flags in the wedding planning. I hope it all works out well for you
I totally agree... I do not see where this is going.... @Country homesteader has talked about going separate ways, the sister and family are not welcoming, and now a $400 DJ and free wedding venue use an hour away is too far???? And putting it off for nearly another year when it was "sorta on the plan for this fall"....
I hope you can get to where you are happy, for this situation to work...

Must be your first marriage -- right? Not his, right? Go to justice of peace, a few close friends , nice dinner, be done. Have a cookout at home with "XXX" to celebrate the union. That could be done this fall, the original (??) date. What is important? What do you want for "MY DAY"?? The vows "to happen" would be first in my mind. Think hard on that.
I agree

Deadly blunt...I'd hug you if we were together, really, really hard!!!...he does not want to marry. You are being "taken care of", you perform all wifey duties, not gonna be a day to remember. BTDT. Get a job, move on with life or accept this is it, as is. AND still get a job so you can pay rent, utilities and have retirement income when you're on your own again. 🫂❤️‍🩹😢

Even the guys see it...no one wants to crush your feelings.

Must be your first marriage
It's my 2nd marriage. When I got married the first time I feel like I was cheated out of a LOT of the experiences that a woman is suppose to have during this time of her life so yes I would to experience a little of it.
@Grandmas Porch it's not him saying I'm over thinking/over planning it's other people yet they're not suggesting anything. One person did and that was get a list of the items that some of the guests would do as a dish to pass then we buy all the stuff so all they have to do is make it right here and we stock up on meat then pay someone to just run the grill, beverage station, and stuff like that.

Job worked most of day....now, making Cajeta. That's goat milk caramel sauce 😁 made ricotta this morn, before going to work. Need to use up milk👍🐐😁 might get to another pot of the caramel before bedtime. Depends on time. Guess I'll need vanilla ice cream now 🤔

Getting some more light rain showers now.
