Coffee is ready. Going for second cup, I’ll get outside by 7 instead of the usual 6:30. Back is still a little sore from couple days ago, but it’s ok. Going to finish unloading fence posts.

6:02 here, one cup down,,,
coop duty
feed dogs
start laundry
freeze a zip lock of tomatoes
brew tea for more kombucha

pick romaine, tomatoes, more green beans--cut oregano, thyme, rosemary, 3 heads of cabbage are ready,
finish up with the herbs I cut on? Wed. ---mint, wormwood, marshmallow---
hard boil some eggs to make pickled eggs
Its Friday,,, Oh my,,, well it will be a long day, I want to get as much done as I can so Sunday is clear-- I have a ham/pork roast in the freezer I think I will thaw to slow cook for Sunday, I'll pressure cook up some beans

OK, Rooster is yelling at me-- got to go to worK All,
See ya at break time

I was thinking the same thing. However her right arm is bandaged. I keep a pocket knife in my right pocket. So Rule #9 should be never go anywhere without a knife in BOTH pockets.

Regarding the pursuit of "master gardener". Thank you for your thoughts 👍

Yes it would require commitment, no doubt about that. I'm still undecided, the required time involved, is my number one blocker. I should however take the initial Illinois Gardener Training then I suppose the path will become clearer from there.

Thanks again for your thoughts.

I looked into this a long while ago. The time commitment was indeed huge. If I was retired..

Yesterday evening I sprayed all the orchard trees and potted grafts and my wife's roses with element sulfur. Element sulfur is one of the oldest pesticides and fungicides there is and appears to be quite safe from reading the label. Always read and follow the label.

Currently It takes 4 gallons of wetted sulfur to spray everything well and this is only going to increase as the trees grow in size and increase in number.

Fruit trees and their relatives are fungi magnets and expecially at a young age or at least it appears to me that a fungal infection quickly overwhelms young trees. Rain and wind and the right temperature range cause fungus spore to replicate and further damage foliage, and buds.

It's been rainy the last few weeks so everything needed a good cover spray. It still is foggy out there at approximately 9:00 AM. So I would venture to say my spray didn't have time to dry yet. This should be good though, since the sulfur would remain active in its liquid state for an extended period of time. Hopefully stopping any fungi activity and prohibiting replication. I did spray them well as directed by the label.

Going to be busy here over the next few days. Pretty typical actually.

1) pick pears / make pear sauce
2) pick sweet corn and process
3) pick elderberries and process
4) work on chicken house.
5) favor and bottle 5 gallons of kombucha.

Hope you all have a blessed day. Days in earth are short, they just fly by. Try and make the most of them.

Not for anything special but here's the menu; RIBS, SMOKED CHICKEN, SMOKED MEAT LOAF, SMOKED BACON WRAPPED BOSTON BUTT, SMOKED BACON WRAPPED CHICKEN BREAST BITES,BOSTON BUTT, HAMBURGERS, HOT DOGS, SMOKED SAUSAGE, HOMEMADE MAC & CHEESE, SMOKED "APPLE PIE" BAKED BEANS, PASTA SALAD, GREEN BEAN CASSEROLE, MAC SALAD. That's just for beginners seeing how i don't know what else is going to get brought. I'm hoping ppl will bring some sort of desserts too. Right now the only thing is S'mores later on that night.
Where exactly is this and will I get bounced if I crash?
