No spray bartlet pear harvest, farmbabe and I picked. I'm going to remove stems and trim out bad spots on the ripe ones. Then them stick in her big roasting pan to roast up some pear sauce.

I am so glad you have that tree, what a wonderful blessing
Absolutely no doubt about that ๐Ÿ‘†

No spray pears are de-stemed and trimmed of bad spots. Farm babe picked a couple of starlings. I''m like whoa ๐Ÿ˜ณ give me those and I eat several ๐Ÿ˜‚ Need about another week to be fully ripened, but still delicious. I added them to the roaster along with the Bartlet pears ๐Ÿ˜

Pear sauce will be ready sooner than I know it will.

Recipe I'm following. Looks like a man recipe, should be easy enough ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

About 45 minutes into the roast, first stir. What little bit stuck to the spoon is deliciously sticky. I got a good feeling this pear sauce is going to turn out really well.

Pear sauce I would say 2 1/2 gallons estimated. We'll get a good count when farmbabe cans it. The pear sauce is off the chain delicious, I feel like I cheated it's so good.

Pear Sauce - Ingredients: Pears

Farmbabe's got 18 pints in water bathers. My 2.5 gallon estimate was close, 18 pints is 2.25 gallons. She said don't need to add anything to the pear sauce, just water bath. That's great because it's delicious as is. So still...

I really like bread ๐Ÿ˜‹ farmbabe has me eating keto bread. It's ok but not the same as homemade bread like that. It may not be perfect but your belly won't mind one little bit

So, You are doing them in the slow cooker rather than an oven? That looks like the best way to do them. I make peach butter in the slow cooker but have never put them in with skins and all... wonder how that would work.
Roasting pan, no stick this way. I'm almost certain I could do the same thing in my 20 gallon stainless kettle with flame under I see no real difference. But would have to try it in the kettle to be positive.

I'll run them through the food mill in a bit and we'll find out how it works out roasting with skins and cores.

Edit... Do they even sell pear syrup? If not, they should. What was in the bottom of the roasting pan is unbelievably sweet and sticky. It's in the pear sauce now though.
