Live and learn. :hugs I will not tell you how many baby ducks I drowned before I learned that baby ducks are not waterproofed yet. :hide

As for "My hand is fine, although the wall isnt " ... that is how I learned to sheet rock. ;)

Another day will bring the sun.
Yeah, this is true :) Thankfully, the ducklings are ok :)
As for the wall, yes, it is in fact sheetrock, and yes, I will be learning how to sheetrock  I thank the powers that be that while I may have on occasion a nasty temper, I don't hit people or animals and I don't abuse (unless they deserve :D :gig ), however occasionally I just have too much energy when I'm angry and I have to direct it somehow. So, generally a wall, or a door, or in one memoriable(sp?) case a car door  :smack

So, when I left home for work, everyone was alive and talking so lets :fl that they all stay that way! I'm just glad that we didn't lose Zippy since she goes to a new home tomorrow!
And, I didn't post anything earlier because my suspicions were not confirmed until right before I left for work, but one of our Mille's is brooding! She was in the same spot for several hours, and I found four eggs under her! So, I left them there, with todays date on them :) Funny thing, none of them are hers  Ah well!
Yay for something good!

And, :hugs to all of ya!

You also need to have a talk with my little stud finder - hubby. A dear sweet and quite l.o.n.g. suffering man married to ME. Ask him about being driven to extreme frustration by that wed lock and the wall HE took out his grief on, so many years ago. Also ask him about the 2x4 that he found, quite cleverly hidden behind that wall and the surgery and steel pin required to repair the damage! Then at last find the time to look at said hand, that still won't open quite right and STOP hitting the freaking walls!!! :ep

:clap yeah for the broody!

As for hitting walls... hubby did that once and like FF's hubby he found a stud and busted up his hand pretty bad... 12 years later and it still bothers him... since then he has learned anger management...

Hubby always says he just learned to hit what is bothering him instead of innocent walls. :ep

Lol, ya'll make my journal happy :)

Not gassy, mind you, just happy :D :p

So, update on the broody! She has five eggs under her now, cause she apparantly laid one of her own :D so, we'll see how this goes! When the other momma hatched her own baby, it drowned two days later, so we'll see what happens :) (and no, I wasn't doing anything overly wrong, it just got into the waterer when it was very cold out. Shock! )

So, I finally calmed down (obviously). I think the copious amounts of sugary drinks helped :D

Now let me tell you about hubby trying to make out with the attending nurse while he was coming out of the anesthetic! "You are a beautiful angel. Did you know that?" ... and then almost falling out of the bed trying to reach out and kiss her. :drool  :gig

It was hysterical! .... I guess you had to be there. :hide

Yeah! on the broody :weee And I'm glad you didn't find a stud with your hand and break it.

We tried to convince one of our hens to go broody back when we had a big rooster, and none of the girls would cooperate! We got up to a dozen eggs I let accumulate in one nest and left them there and no one would sit on them. For two years in a row we tried. If I ever want new chicks I am going to have to learn from what you are doing and try to raise them inside. With two Jack Russells who WILL eat any escapees.

Lol, yeah. I tend to not find the studs ;)

I don't have to convince anyone :) These are mille fluer bantam cochins. The 1 year old went broody back in November(?) and this one is broody now :) I just figure, what the heck, if they do they do :D As for learning from us on the inside, find a way to firmly attach a couple gerbil waterers to the wall of your brooder, use those trough feeders but only fill them halfway, and let em have it! :)
