So, working off the premise that it is better to be prepared and have everything lined up I have been looking at rental properties online for the Lawrence, KS/Douglas County area. No, SO has not been told he has the position yet (which is starting to take nerve damage toll) but it's better to be prepared right? So I'm looking on craigslist (yes, I'm aware that there is potential for problems there ) and I found what I think is the perfect house. It's more than affordable, it has the right number of bedrooms, and a nice amount of property attached and we can have the dogs and the cats (I am assuming ) but the only problem is that it is 40 miles away from Lawrence and SO already said that if it wasn't in Lawrence we need to keep the second car. We don't really need a second car, I can always call an ambulance

This is really starting to run us ragged. They haven't announced a decision yet so we cannot make plans for moving and such and it's killing us that they are dragging the suspense out for so long.

40 miles is a pretty long commute! And old houses frequently need things like heat and insulation.

So, SO did not get the Assistant Manager position lol: ) but he did get the Vitamin Manager position and he is going to take it. It means a small increase in wage, but it is ok because cost of living is less there. So, we are moving to Kansas in October! Now I have to start finding places to live, packing and getting rid of stuff we dont need, etc. Yay!!
