So, SO did not get the Assistant Manager position :)lol: ) but he did get the Vitamin Manager position and he is going to take it. It means a small increase in wage, but it is ok because cost of living is less there. So, we are moving to Kansas in October! Now I have to start finding places to live, packing and getting rid of stuff we dont need, etc. Yay!!

edited to change ass to assistant as it shows as backside?! :gig :gig
At the Merc?
No, his company Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage is expanding into new areas and Kansas is one of those areas. They are opening this store in November in Lawrence and another in Witchita in December I believe. :)

Wifezilla: Will do. Probably pretty much anytime, just not sure how precisely to get them to you. I don't think my company would take it very well if I use our inhouse courier service to get them to you that way :D

lori: Thanks! I've been looking at places in Lawrence all day, and have emailed several people already. I just wish I could actually be there doing this instead of over the internet!

So what kind of place are you looking for?? Country or city???

g
I'm looking for country, but I've been told city. The problem is that we are only taking one car, and since he did not get the A.M. position he won't be making enough to support the both of us while I try to get my SS stuff off the ground. So, we are in the city until he gets the position. However, he did get some rather interesting news today. The people higher up in the company told Kat, his new manager, that she needs to start really grooming him (get your mind out of the gutter :p ) because they are looking to put him into a store manager position soon! And, that is why they did not choose him for the A.M. position. They want him to really hit the Department Head position hard and learn absolutely everything he can in that position, and then move up to A.M. so they can get him trained there before bumping him to manager! They are looking at him as a manager for one of their future new stores!! How freaking awesome is that?!!? It sucks that he's not making all that much more than he is here, but it's awesome that they are looking at him for the future! :weee :weee
So, I will bide my time, we will rent a place in town so we have easy commutes with public transit and our own feets, have the dogs, grow good gardens, and plan and plan and plan :D

I totally forgot the other reason I came online!

How do I test the sharpness of the blade I want to use on the chickens without actually using it on the chickens? :D

Cool beans! I liked Lawrence the few times I was there, fun college town with lots of stuff going on all the time. I'm 7 miles northwest from Abilene, you'll probably go cruising by if you take I-70.

I think if the knife cuts cooked chicken and steak pretty well it should work. I picked up a boning knife from my local restaurant supply. It cost like 8 bucks. But worked like a charm.
