OK, I have a question for all you kefir smoothie makers. Maybe I am not doing my Kefir right...but I like the taste of it plain..straight from being strained. I strain it, into my glass, 8 ounces, and just drink it. Oh, its thick...and a little sour, like sour cream...but i just LOVE sour cream...so...is there something im missing here?? Maybe Im not doing something right with my Kefir...if it still tastes good to me. :hu
No, you are just a bad ass chick! (like BBH)

Edited to add....thanks BBH!!

Nope, I like mine straight up too. :) I also like buttermilk though. :p
Good to know, I am not wierd...or doing something wrong. LOL I actually wake up wanting my kefir...before coffee!:ep
I'm like that too. I think it is our bodies telling us something. :)

Oh btw, has anyone made it yet with half and half??? OMG I was out of milk and had some half and half left over for some reason. The kefir came out like pudding, it was so dreamy I couldn't believe it! YUM YUM!

Now thats the one you add chocolate to Dace!

OK, BBH, YOU HAVE MY FULL ATTENTION!!!!

Honestly, depending upon how I prepare it, I can sometimes have a hard time swallowing it. :/ But I also do look forward to having it, so my body knows it is good for it. I think I need to try the pudding version! :)

Is half and half good for us? I was kind of under the impression it wasn't, but can't recall why. I always have heavy cream on hand, but that could get costly.

I had planned to pick up some raw milk (found some and I am going to throw caution to the wind {force open the wallet} ) and now I am looking at my new supersized 32oz jar of kefir thinking....maybe not :/

Edited to add...I love my kefir, swear by it in fact , but I can't imagine drinking it straight up *gulp* :p

It was whatever you use to make whipped cream. (Whipping cream?)

Anyway, it was YUM! Perhaps just as a treat once in a while. :p

Hey DM I tried to give some to my guest and she almost barfed! I suppose it isn't for everyone. :p

Yeah, what DM said....use whole milk not FF or low fat. Do not use Ultra-pasteurized though.

I've been using 2% and it seems to work fine, although maybe it would taste better if I used full fat?
