For all of my talk about ventilators, I will say that there is a time and place for them. I just don't think they are being used appropriately at this time, in the treatment of covid. My husband was knocking on death's door 26 years ago, and after a total pancreatectomy, he was on a ventilator for several days. He spent a total of 4 weeks in ICU, was on oxygen for most of that time. Was NPO for at least 4 weeks. If he had had cookie cutter treatment, he would have been a dead man. There was one doctor who tried to kill him every time she came near him. She was a cookie cutter doctor, and continuously ordered things that were completely opposed to his surgeon's wishes. He was the leading expert regarding Pancreatitis and GI surgeries at that time. If not for him, treating APPROPRIATELY, according to patient driven needs, and if not for the power of prayer, I would have been a widow at that time.

Yep. Just because they hang a diploma on the wall, you have no way to know if they graduated at the top of their class, or just barely passed.

Sometimes it is also whether a dr is strictly by the book conventional... with no thoughts for anything that is different. I feel sad and even sorry for those that do not try to expand their own limits to see what else there is... but again, conventional medicine today does not encourage that.
I agree that there is a time and place for many/most/all the different type of treatments that have been developed over the years. I just happen to think that the less intrusive ones should be tried first in most cases......So, I agree with @Lazy Gardener , and when you find someone that you like, and TRUST, then they are the one to listen to.

There are several doctors in Texas that prescribe Hydroxychloroquine, etc. My husband knows that is where we would go if we come down with the CoVid. I will not go on a ventilator.
Do you mind PM'ing me their names and where in Texas they are?

Ya'll hold on to your stash of toilet paper--and everything else. With the spike in Covid 19 cases, there is already rumbling on the news of shutting down the country again this coming winter. I bet the stock market crashes again.

Do you really think the American people will put up with another shut-down?

Yes, I do. They are that gullible. The state of Maine still hasn't been opened up. And, there are a lot of people who LIKE the shut down, b/c they get paid more to stay home than they do to work. Baiting program for the push of socialism. They don't understand where that money is coming from.

Sooner or later everyone is going to either come into contact and get covid, or else take the vaccine if/when it becomes available. In the meantime, take the precautions that you feel you need to, but get on with life. We can't stay hold up in our homes for the next year or so waiting on a "cure". There may never be one.

There is not a cure for the flu, just a vaccine that works sometimes, but sometimes doesn't. As far as a vaccine, what will the side effects be? Now you can get cancer from taking Zantac, an over the counter med. I don't think I'll want to take a vaccine that has been rushed through trials.

I'll be 57 this year. I have asthma, low thyroid and Rheumatoid Disease. I take immunosuppresents to lower my over powered immune system to keep it from destroying my joints & vital organs. I stayed home for over 6 weeks, and helped lower the curve. I'm not going to hide the rest of my life. I wear a mask when I have to, but I go out and do what I need to do. Will I catch covid? Eventually I probably will. Will I die from it? Only God knows. But I'm not living in fear.

We have already been told at work to expect a quarantine in November.
