Several years ago, we had the same thing-in April! It doesn't snow here that late in the year.

I bit the bullet and called the vet. Yes, Princess and Daisy still have their lumps. I will have them cultured. The ewes will be given the once over too. The vet comes highly recommended. I just thought I would establish a relationship for future use. ;) I think the extra $150 charge for non-established clients may have swayed me a bit. :D She will take cake of the cat and dog too. I find it interesting that the vet I am changing from, never told me about the farm vet. She told me the closest farm vet was an hour away and yet the new vet is in the next town over.

So the date is Thursday at 10. I am now on pins and needles. :fl

Gert and Bert have returned. They are the pair of wild ducks that have taken up residency in our pond. They have been returning every spring for years.

Question-

How do you get a dog to stop eating poo? Every kind of poo. Chicken, duck, goat and sheep. It is really gross. Especially when he comes in the house and puked that poo. :sick Any tips would be helpful. Oh, he is a cow dog. A non-herding cow dog :idunno

ETA: It is snowing AGAIN. :(

Poo is its own reward. You won't get them to stop eating it. It isn't gross to them and they don't mind barfing. If someone has a tip for you about dogs not eating poo, I am REALLY anxious to hear it.

:pop

Please.....someone........:sick

My dogs still eat poo but not as much....my first dog came with me on my farm calls and would go from stall to stall to sample every flavor. "He's gotta eat his weight in poo every day" one barn manager told me! When I started him on a good dog multi (he was already on a homemade diet, vet designed) he stopped eating poo within a month. Probably sooner, I just didn't notice it right away since he gets a lot of freedom. I finally noticed it when I noticed he was near me more when at the barns. I started watching him closely, thinking something was wrong because of the behavior change. Then I noticed at home he would search the manure pile very carefully, as if looking for something he lost.

He was used to stuffing his face, but no longer had the urge to do so. But the habit was still there. He eventually didn't bother anymore.

He will still take a bite now and then, but it is more of a nibble and it is fairly rare.

Pet Health multi for dogs and also I give the OPC's with glucosamine for dogs and cats to all my dogs and cats. Makes a huge difference. Here is my website (I like the products so much I became a distributor....my MD actually got me on the people versions originally! :p ) www.marketamerica.com/freemotion

Scroll down and you'll see the Pet Health logo (green with a pic of a dog) and click on it.

And your mileage may vary......it is not a claim of the manufacturer that your dog will no longer have poo breathe! Worked for me, though.
