Next time you are buying livestock, explain up front that your vet is on retainer and will be out shortly to verify health.
That will weed out the liars real fast.

For now though, I would serve the other farmer with the vets findings.
Along with a nicely couched threat.
I left a message on his voicemail to call. Let's see if he does.

I wouldn't wait for him to call. I would be demanding my money back. And going over there with some back up. (i'm talking about man power--not a baseball bat)

That would be even better. I wonder what the cops woud say about it if you talked to them about it and asked them to come along for the visit? I would def. consider that!

My thoughts were along these lines as well. Didn't this yoyo say that he would take the animals back at first? Then said you were "overreacting"? I might be remembering it wrong, but the vet bill would prove you were not overreacting.

I'd be inclined to pack up those animals in the trailer and take them over there with the vet bill in hand and several witnesses. Ask him if he is going back on his word? He makes it a practice to sell sick animals, saying they have "splinters" and lying about their ages?

You have every right to be mad. It is one thing to buy one ill animal, but four is really taking someone for a ride, that was NOT NICE.

Psssssttt......Damummis spilled the beans over at the youngin's place and said that her birthday was yesterday.

Seems like a rough time to say this, but Happy Late Birthday! I hope yesterday was good since I know today wasn't!
