Introducing the ES (Evening Shade) Enterprise:

Still trying to figure out if it's the 6 or 8 quart but have definately ruled out it being the 4 qt. Doc's going to contact a guy, just up the road from us, who owns a metal/machine shop to see if he can sand or bead blast it for us, to clean it up. Once the rust is gone, we'll take it to Mom's and use the ovens in her canning shed to season it.

Found two numbers on it:

2092... which is the model number (I think ) and

what looks like 1789

And last, but not least, a pic of the greenhouse benches that we picked up a while back:

We're grilling out for dinner and will sit out by the fire for a bit this evening.

Going to go start picking berries...should be another good haul since I wasn't here to pick yesterday!

Had a nice evening outdoors, although the light breeze had the smoke from the fire blowing in every direction possible and mainly in our faces. There were a gazillion stars shining and they made up for the smoke-fest.

Got a niiice blackberry haul...thanks for the help, doc! We started on our second, gallon-sized freezer bag and we still have loads of red berries that need to ripen yet! Mom let me know that she has several bags of blackberries in her freezer, from last year, and they are ours for the wine.

I almost took a spill in the patch and I don't think I've ever danced sooo hard in my life to stay upright! Just the thought of being impaled by all those thorns was a great motivator, though!

The quiche was super-easy to make and I'll get the recipe from mom, the next time we are over there.

Today is going to be a leisurely day...going to haul in some deadfall wood, clean the buns' poop trays, defrost the freezer, WD-40 the Enterprise and Rub-a-Dub-Bub aka give the dog-smellin' boy a bath in the driveway. It'll be his first bath from us and as much as he loves water, I suspect he's going to want to pack his bags and move to moms! Time will tell!

Got everything on yesterdays' list accomplished...much to Bubba's horror!

He was totally fine hanging out with me while I washed my hair with the hose the other day, but that was ME!

Not a happy camper and couldn't believe that we'd add insult to injury and take pictures:

He's been accused of being fat but he's just real fluffy, unless he's soaking wet:

I'm so glad that I got ChaChi moved into a snake-proofed pen...the black snake paid a visit to their coop today and didn't get a meal from it! I let it leave on it's own, with a "go eat mice" lecture.

Well, Deb, it did this... ...so I doubt it!

Had rain for about 4 hours this afternoon, and got about 3/4ths of an inch. I know the gardens and blackberries appreciated it as much as we did!

Had a short list of outdoor things to get done so none of it was accomplished today. No big deal as it'll all still be here to do tomorrow!

Taste tested the Watermelon wine and it's definately wine, but it needs to age for atleast a year before it will actually be good. It turned from bubble gum pink to a pretty amber color. We plan on getting it bottled tomorrow and I'll make sure and take pix.

Talked to our friend that plans on coming out for a visit, looks like either the end of June/beginning of July or the end of July (docs' long weekends off)

Well, I'm out of here for now...gotta feed the critters since it isn't raining.

We're supposed to get rain tomorrow. Hope we do. It will give me time to clean out my tack shed.

We got a little rain, mostly wind, HEAVY wind. That was a super strong storm, and very pretty. It cooled off about 15 degrees when it hit here within 5 minutes.

Dang...it's been 4 days since I bugged y'all here. Hope ya's enjoyed the vacation!

The storm came in the same way here and the temperature drop was greatly appreciated! No damage around camp but I'm sure we lost a lot of widowmakers out in the woods.


Been HOT here today, topped out at 97 a bit ago, so we're hiding out in the AC!

Got to taste our first Goji berries and they were yummy! I think we need to plant more!

Did our MoMo run yesterday and made a few calls about 2 bun bucks and some quail. The quail were already sold and we opted out on the bucks since they weren't meaties.

On the way home, we stopped at a house that has what looks to be meat rabbits but they weren't home. We left our number and hope to hear back from them.
