I’m so sorry for the circumstances of illness for your MIL. Why does it have to be so hard, drawn out and sick. I’m sorry for your DH too, it’s hard to deal with.
DH made apple cider last week. Yesterday I wasn't feeling well, so I taught him how to can it. He made and canned 2 batches of cider - 14 quarts. We made and canned 34 quarts of cider altogether.
I have 3 gallons of tomatoes in a bucket that I need to process soon.
Change brewing here. DH and I are starting to plan an addition on our house. We wanted to in 2019 but COVID made construction materials unaffordable. We are also house shopping for a 2nd home/vacation/retirement home.
I'm downsizing. I was fairly minimal, so I already decluttered the easy stuff. Now I'm having to make choices about what good things to let go of. Hobbies, mostly.
I reduced my deep pantry by half. I didn't re-enroll in 4-H. I tossed most of my small houseplants. I'm selling my chickens next weekend. I decided to give up my felting and spinning hobbies since I like them the least of my remaining hobbies. I reduced skincare to the essentials. I reduced my supplements as much as possible.
I plan to continue decluttering until I feel like I have space to breathe.
