I lost my cell one time. I had left it on top of my truck. A good samaritan found it lying on the road, called my recent contacts to ask them whose phone it was, then got the phone back to me. It was my business cell, with all my customer list! It pays to have a hand written back up copy of all those numbers! Maybe you'll get blessed by a good samaritan like i did. I recently had the opportunity to pay it forward. I found a brand new I phone at the grocery store parking lot. It only had one contact, "Mom". I called her and left the phone with the store manager.

I'm hoping. Tomorrow morning when I go out to feed, I'm going to drive real slow and look for it. Other than doing that, I don't know of anything else I can do to find it.

I really don't think I'm going to get anything out of this clutch. Eggs are exploding left and right. I'm down to 12. I'm wiping them off every day and replacing the hay. And today, I had one break in my hand. :sick I think between the heat and the age of the eggs that it spelled doom for these eggs from the beginning. If she hadn't of hid the nest, I would have tried the incubator again and hoped I had better luck. If they don't hatch, I don't think I'm going to get some chicks. Instead, I'll see if I can find some EE pullets. Roxi and Angel are both laying good, and I think Roxi might be thinking about getting broody, so I do have one more chance to get chicks.

Today, I basically got nothing done. It's just too hot.

I didn't get anything out of my duck clutch either. The eggs disappeared! I think the duck ate them. I thought they could not be developing properly anyway, she must have known.

And now that I don't have a grown up roo (just five cockerels :he ) I have a broody Buff Orpington! This is why I got the incubator, the birds are not timing things well.

I hope your phone shows up today.

If it does, it will be too late. DH and I are getting ready to go buy a new one. I'm hoping I can get one that uses the same charger. Then, I don't need to get any extras. I have the car charger in my truck, the one at home, and I had bought a new one to keep in my book bag-I just don't know where I put it. So, if the new one takes the same charger, I'll also be able to have one at the farm.

Can I shoot a horse? One of CL's horses is a PITB! He gets bored, and has to work on taking apart the wooden fence. I got to the farm this morning to feed mine. As I'm driving down the road, I notice 2 horses in the neighbor's field. Then, I notice a mini. At first, I was thinking they were LF's horses, but that didn't make sense. On of her horses is a chestnut, and these were both bays. That's when I saw the 3rd horse, a paint. And when I looked a bit more, I saw that there were 2 more minis out, as well as the mini mule.

At first I thought that maybe I had left a gate opened. That's not something I normally do, but that doesn't mean I can't forget. But, the gate was closed. So, I go and get some of their feed to use as a bribe. The one horse and all the little guys follow me right away. The other 2 horses ignored me. So, I get all of them in the field and shut the gate. Then I go and get a lead. One of her horses has a leather collar on-which is good. I have no idea where their halters are, and don't know if I have one that will fit. I had to walk all the way across the field to the driveway. And, of course the field was soaking wet. But, at least it wasn't as tall as last time I had to round up horses. I put the lead on the one, and start leading him. The other one follows. So, I was able to get them where they belonged. That's when I start checking the boards. I found a top one down, and just as I'm working on getting that back in place, RU shows up. She had people stop in the middle of the night to tell her horses are out, but she couldn't find them. So, w/her help, I get that board in place. Then I walk back to feed KN's horse. That's when RU saw the other board. There was no top board in that spot, just a middle and a bottom board. And, the horse had taken the middle board out. That made it very easy for them to step out and go walk about. RU is planning on putting bolts in the boards to keep him from doing this.

So, this morning, I imitated OFG, and was late for church. Oh well.

Would it be too expensive or not a good choice to run a row of electric where that horse is kept? Seems like he needs that fence to give him a little SHOCK :ep to wake him up about what fences are about. :smack I don't like using electric shock on dogs, but when it becomes a chronic issue and the dog is endangering itself, that is the time to use the big guns.

You might be happy about your new phone. They are amazing these days. I can't even hear but found myself wanting one after seeing my daughter's newest phone.....those things do all sorts of things. It plays music, takes pictures, it is an alarm clock, goes on the internet, takes messages, texts, and all with just touching the screen with your finger. She can pull up a little keyboard too so she can text things into it with a little keyboard instead of using the numbers, like it she is on the internet. Amazing little device! I'm not sure what she spent but I know it wasn't the most expensive choice because when I mentioned this must be one of the fanciest kinds she laughed really loud. Apparently I'm out of touch with the phone world.

Putting up electric is on the list. I put electric between my field and his because one of the other horses in that field and Stormy do not get along together. But, it also needs to be on the other side as well. The other day, I had to go and free him. There's fencing up on both sides (or was), and in trying to get to Stormy, he tangled himself up in the fence. I don't quite know how he did it. I had to cut that section of fence off.

It doesn't seem possible, but tomorrow is the day that I tell my boss that I'm quitting! I can hardly wait. :ya :ya :ya There have been times when I wasn't sure I'd make it thru the summer, but now that I'm on the "last lap", I should be able to. Then, it will be much easier for me to get wood done for the winter, as well as finally getting caught up on houseork, etc.
