I've done therapy B4, and I don't recall any of it hurting this much. But, I do see a difference already. Last night, i dreamt I was running in the pasture and had to stop because I'm not supposed to be doing that. So then, I grabbed a hold of Misty's neck and let her pick me up that way and carry me around.

Biggest problem I have right now is I'm not sleeping well. Every time I move while I sleep, it wakes me up. Normally, I sleep all night w/out moving, but I can't really get comfortable. But, this too shall pass.

when I had my neck surgery I had tons of pain. sleep was hard also cause any movement would shoot pain thru like a lightening bolt.

called nurse and she said take 2 Advil. Honestly it worked. 2 Advil she said darn near equals prescription strength pain killer. (I didn't take my pain pills they gave me. I hate pills like that LOL)---those 2 Advil saved me alot of pain truly.

Then about 3 months later I went to bed hurting, the next day I woke up perfect. Not one ounce of pain. They said it would take 3 mos. to heal and by gosh it did.

I'm like you, I don't like to take any pain pills unless I have to. Maybe tonight I'll try taking some pills and see whether I sleep better or not.

if you have the pills it might be worth taking some just to get that sleep. sleep helps repair.

Then, maybe I should go back to bed. After all, there's nothing on TV, I'm tired and bored, so bed sounds good.

Now that I have everyone's attention, back to normal stuff. :plbb

The other day I get to the farm, open my tack shed and there's one of the farm cats looking at me! I was not happy, and figured it must have been in there when I closed up my tack shed. My cat food was all gone. The water dish was empty, and Cindy was giving me dirty looks. She and Rerun are starting to tolerate each other better now (Rerun will actually walk past her at times w/out trying to start a fight!), but here's yet ANOTHER cat in her tack shed. I kick it out. When I left, I made sure there were no extra cats in there, just Cindy and Rerun eating their food.

I get there the next day, open the tack shed door, and once again, there's the same cat! :somad I have some plastic chairs in front of my shed, and someone had stacked them and put them on my deck. So, I figured the cat was climbing up on them then leaping up to where Rerun escapes. I move the chairs and hope the problem is solved.

I get to the farm today. I had a feeling that the cats weren't getting fed regularly since that's something I was doing, but stopped when I had my operation. So, B4 I ever headed over to my shed, I went ahead and fed the cats. And, they all came running, so I think I'm right. The only cat I don't see? The one that's been getting into my shed.

I open the door. And at first, all I see is Cindy. Then, I look to the one side. And there, perched on top of my saddle is THAT SAME CAT!!!!!! :rant :he Because of the cats, I keep my saddle pad on top of my saddle. And when I went to remove the cat, it had no desire to go. It dug its claws into the pad. It was removed (none to gently) and told STAY OUT!

The only way I can figure this cat is getting in is by jumping on top of the tool box I store my bagged feed in. And from there, I figure it's jumping onto the 2x4 over the door, walking along that, and then getting in the hole. So, I decided to nail a board along the one side. Only problem being? I had no nails. So, I ran out to the hardware store, got a box of nails, came back, climbed up on the tool box (don't tell my doctor or therapist, I think they'd both have a heart attack) w/the board, a hammer and the nails and put the board up. I hope that this works to keep the cat out. If it can still get in, I'm probably going to have to put up a board on the other side, and then nail a wide board or a piece of T1-11 up so it can't get up there. KN is supposed to feed for me tomorrow, and I told her to let me know if the cat gets in there again.

It's a good thing I'm not dependent on my hubby to get food now. He called me at shortly after 3:30 to say he was stopping for just a bit at a bar and would then be home so we could decide what we wanted for dinner. He's STILL not home. :somad

I can REALLY relate on the sleep issues. I remember waking up sobbing in the middle of the night from the pain and the discomfort of not being able to move. I was not allowed to bend my knee for 6 weeks, and then the bending came at a painstakingly SLOW rate. I had to wear a full leg brace, the kind with 4 straps and the big hinges on the side that locked at whatever degree you wanted it to, and when I would attempt to sleep, the straps would create pressure points that hurt. You wouldn't think a 2" strap would be that bad, but it was horrible. Crazy thing, Mom and I finally went to Joann's fabrics, and picked up pieces of foam, it ended up that I had 2 pieces of foam that we cut to fit between the straps on my upper and lower leg, and then wrapped them on with vetwrap every night. That stuff comes in handy! It was crazy, but it worked. It helped to even out the pressure on my leg when I would lay on my stomach (which is how I ended up sleeping most of the time because then it isn't as obvious to your brain that you can't bend your knee), and that made it tolerable.

I can also relate to doing things you shouldn't be doing. The year of the big snows (triple storms, one in Dec and double storms at the beginning of Feb) was of course the year I was recovering. My surgery was mid Oct, and the first big storm of Dec hit only 2 months after I was out of surgery. And remember how I said I wasn't allowed to bend or bear weight for 6 weeks.... yeah, I'd only been putting weight on it and bending to about 20 degrees when the first storm hit. My other half was away for the weekend, and my friend was staying with me to lend a hand, and we got snowed in. So there is me, and a not really horse person trying to manage 22 horses in the SNOW. It was INSANE. Then in Feb the next two storms hit, and I was slightly better off, but it was still a huge struggle to do things. I just couldn't enjoy the snow the way I wanted to. And its practically never snowed since! :gig

*HUGS* Take care of yourself! Don't do anything too stupid! :p
