My daughter has a 14-year-old cat. When she was about 10, she dissapeared for about two months. She finally returned when my daughter was sure she never would, we were so relieved.
The cat did not step outside again for something like two years, and prior to that she could not be kept inside, she would escape. But my daughter still has her.
I'm now past the asparagus! So, the rest of the garden should be fairly easy, which is good. In some spots, the ground is frozen for about an inch or so. I should (hopefully) get it all cleaned out, weeded and the rest of the posts in tomorrow. Then on Friday and Saturday, I'll bring home a truck load of manure and see how far I get covering it w/that. If that's not enough, I'll have to bring more home next week. Then, I put up the fence, rake the yard and dump it in there, put the plastic down where I want it, and sit back and wait until spring! This will be the first year I will actually have gotten this done.
I wish I had all that done! I need to plant a garden next year. I have all this goat, chicken, duck and rabbit poop and I should be composting with it!
I started to try this a few years ago, and didn't finish. But I did notice where I had manure, then leaves I didn't need to do anything other than move the leaves that were still there to the side when I wanted to plant the following year. The soil was nice and loose w/out tilling. And, since our rototiller is broke, I'm hoping this works.
