If I can ever get caught up, I'll finally have a chance to relax! Of course, if the family would pitch in and help instead of just complaining about what's not done, THAT would be a big help!

Good to hear from you. I need to go get some manure in my garden as well. Maybe tomorrow. But it's supposed to rain her all weekend.

Maybe it will miss us.

I feel lazy reading your posts. And I can't say to myself, she doesn't have MD......so you are an inspiration for me to get off my.....my......seat and get some gardening done despite it being cold.

I was making too many gleeful comments about it not being too cold here so we got a good hard freeze overnight.

But remember, I'm not as bad as you are. And, I find that you're an inspiration to me because you keep going too, in spite of having MD. :hugs
Guess we can inspire each other.

Today, I got very little done. I went to work, and had to do a really hard task. I had to take the dog out in the pickup, and walk the trails and throw any branches off the trails I found. Oh,the horrors of it all, the inhumanity! I got paid to take a walk in the woods! :weee

I did feel bad for poor Cindy today. Yesterday, she was in my tack shed when I left. This morning when I opened the door, she wasn't in there! KN had stopped by the farm after I left. She thought she was in there when she left, but Cindy had apparently snuck out. And, it was cold last night! She was glad to get into her house today. I stopped back at the farm when I was done work. I checked on the chickens, cleaned her litter box, fed Stormy, then went home. My DH took off work today, but he was tired and wanted to take a nap. I was beat myself, so I did the same. I feel much better now. Of course it means I have to feed the animals and do fire wood in the dark, but I've done it b4. Tomorrow is supposed to be fairly nice, so I think I'll actually be able to get the garden done, as well as clean the animal pens!

Is the manure you are using horse manure? I tried using it at our last house for a garden we had and I grew the largest weeds on the block. Perhaps I didn't age it enough? Are you using already aged manure?

Yep, it's horse manure. I'm not sure how aged it is right now.

As for the weeds, that depends entirely on what's in the pasture and/or hay. I know I'll probably have some pig weed coming up in my garden next year, but since I plan on putting a heavy layer of hay, leaves, etc down that will cut way back on it. And since I'm going to be working on getting rid of the pig weed in the field, that should cut down on how much seeds they eat, so they'll be less next year. (I hope.)

I didn't realize how tired I actually was until yesterday. I came home and slept for about 2 hours, and STILL felt tired. I got nothing done all afternoon, except feed the animals and keep the fire going. For dinner, I made myself some potato soup, and didn't wash my dishes. Instead, I read a book, played on the computer, and went to bed. Today will be pretty full. But tomorrow I won't be doing much of anything-except bringing the tree down and decorating it. My DH actually worked on cleaning the living room yesterday. I'll do more of it today. Then, next week, I'll finally get caught up again on the dishes and laundry. If I can get that much done, that will be the cleanest the house has been all year!

Then, it's on to the basement. If I can get all of that junk sorted out and out of here, I'm either going to make the pantry I want, or get my hubby to do it for me. (Of course, if I just start to make it, that will normally motivate him to do it.) Once the basement is done, I'll have room to put junk from the bedroom, then I'll clean out the attic. And by some time next year, my house will FINALLY be clean!

On the marriage front, since I left that night, my hubby has been much better. He is not quite to the point where he's ready to get help, but I can see that he's trying. Today he and our DD are going out, and I have a feeling he'll be drunk when he gets home. But, normally he doesn't get all nasty when he comes home like that, but we'll see. It's really too cold right now for me to spend the night in my tack shed.
