Hubby had off of work today, so this morning I basically got nothing done.
Went to therapy. I'll be so glad when I don't need to go any more. I don't think he approves of me riding yet, but the doctor said it was OK, so I'm going w/the doctor.
Get to the farm. I had planned on saddling up Misty again and riding. But, no one was around and it was pretty windy, which of course made if feel cold. So, I decided I'd go in my tack shed and sit down and work on my garden plans. I used to have a 3 year plan all made up for my garden, but I haven't a clue as to what happened to it. And, w/the expansion plus not being able to grow on the fence now because of the ground hogs, I need to rearrange it anyway. So, I sat down w/my Square Foot Gardening book, a pad of paper and a pencil and got to work.
First off, I was cold. I decided to turn on my heater. But B4 I did, I checked to be sure I had power. I didn't, so I went and checked the outlet. I found out that someone had unplugged the cord. Plugged it in, and went in and turned on my heater. That was better, but I was still cold.
I worked for a bit, then heard RU coming down the lane. Then, she starts blowing her horn. Since I was leaving the shed, I turned off the heater. Walk outside to see what she wanted, and noticed a horse in the neighbor's field-almost all the way over to their driveway. I was pretty sure which horse it was and I was right. Someone hadn't shut the gate properly for the field where KN's horse lives, and she was out. I told RU she's easy, so I'd go and get her. (Other horses, I wouldn't have, but like I said, she's easy.) I start walking across the field. Oh, and I leave a pair of slippers in my shed, that's what I had on my feet. I didn't get too far when she saw me and took off running for her field. I guess she thought I was going to feed her. She goes in, I walk to the gate and close it properly. If I hadn't been wearing my slippers, I would have probably gotten her a little bit of feed, but wasn't ABOUT to walk thru the muck in em.
I go back to my shed and get back to work. The heater just wasn't doing good enough, so I decide to see if I have any little propane canisters so I can fire up my propane heater. I had one w/a bit in it, so I put it in, had a little bit of trouble starting it, but it did. What a difference! I actually started to warm up pretty quickly. After a few minutes, I decide to move it a bit closer. Wasn't too long after that when I realize I'm getting cold again. I look, and it's no longer burning! I figured I was out of fuel, so I turned out the electric heater again. I just wasn't warm enough. So, I started to look for more propane. I found another canister w/a bit in it. I go to take off the one and realized it wasn't empty. I figure I must have jarred it when I moved it and it shut off. I turned it back on. Aaaaahhhhhh, heat!
CL arrives. I knew she was there w/out seeing her cuz I hear all her dogs barking. I look out the window on the door just in time to see one of her dogs go UNDER my gate and start chasing my horses. Needless to say I was not too happy about that. I opened the door and yelled at the dog. It left quickly.
Since I wasn't going to ride, and since it was now getting to noisy and too busy, I fed Stormy, bagged feed, fed the cats and left.
Got home and sat back to relax. Wasn't long B4 I realized that my leg felt different. This is the best it's felt since the surgery! I'm hoping I'll finally be able to sleep tonight. I was going to do some wood, but I'm just too beat from not sleeping. I did some dishes and made some brownies. I need to set up the incubator and feed animals. I'll probably go to bed early tonight.
