Hubby finally looked at my chainsaws yesterday. I've been telling him for months that I can't keep the chain tight on the little one. He doesn't have a clue as to why, so he told me I can't use it. And, something broke on the larger one. He'd have to order a part to fix it and I need it NOW!!!! So, this evening we're going to run out to Home Depot and buy a new saw. Then, when he has the time, he'll get the part for the one, fix it and I'll leave it at the farm. (There's times I need a chainsaw out there.) Of course, that means I'll be doing wood much later than I want to, but it will have to be done. I don't have enough wood to last until tomorrow and it's gotten cold again!

After DH left for work today, I got off the computer, and starting working on cleaning my living room. It has not been done since B4 my surgery, and it really needed it! I worked at it for about an hour, then had to go to therapy. After therapy, I went to the farm, fed everyone, kicked around for a bit, swept and straightened out my tack shed, gave Storm his 2nd feeding, bagged feed, took care of the cats and came home. My plan was to work in my green house. Only 1 small problem w/that.

There was no sun today. There are places that I need to reattach the plastic. As a result, it's not really warm in there right now-unless the sun is shining. And, I was already cold. The house was cold when I got in. So, I got the fire going, and then made brownies. That got the house warmed up. But, I'm out of milk, so I couldn't have a big glass of milk w/my brownies. :hit

Since I couldn't work on the greenhouse, I decided to work some more on the living room. I was able to climb up on a stool and dust the ceiling fan. I was able to take everything off the top of my (upright) piano and dust it. I was able to vacuum the stairs and sweep the landing. W/the exception of a ledge over the front door, I was able to dust and vacuum the rest of the living room! So, I have a clean living room. And, hubby noticed it as soon as he came home. I'm tired now, though. We're going to be leaving soon to go and get a new chain saw. When we get back, I'm going to have to try out my new saw, feed the goats, make dinner, do some dishes, have devotions, read 1 more chapter of David Copperfield, get a shower and get to bed. But, I'm heading in the right direction. I think next week, it won't take me hardly anytime at all to clean the living room!

I always enjoy the five minutes that any room I clean lasts  Then the dog, kid, kitty and hubby manage to return it right back to its previous state!

:yuckyuck Very true. About once a week I summon up the energy to do a round of sweeping, but come in a few hours later and you wouldn't be able to tell.

I had to wait until my kids were older to be able to have clean rooms! I still have a ton of junk to get rid of. Next month, I'm having a yard sale. Anything that doesn't sell is going straight to a thrift store. It will NOT be coming back in my house.

I do hate getting ready for a yard sale but the house looks better after one and I like the cash! My (tiny) house stays pretty clean except for the floors. Sweep every day with three dogs!

My mom's favourite quote was 'Cleaning the house while the kids are still growing is like shoveling the driveway while it's still snowing' :) Now that I have a 15 month old I realize that's very true :)
