Me too. It's funny in a way. Even though Misty can be a bit spooky at times, I'm a bit afraid to ride a different horse. I know what to expect from her-the unexpected! There have been times out on a trail ride she'll spook and I'll find myself under a tree, a few feet over on the trail, etc. One thing for sure, riding her has improved my seat and my balance a ton! I've never come off when she's spooked, and just barely move in the saddle.
I'm going to have a busy morning, and I don't want to leave. I have to follow my husband to work. Our son's transmission blew and someone is meeting us at my hubby's work w/a used one. From there, I have to run to our son's. Then, I have to go to therapy, then to the farm. Well, I just heard peep, peep, peep, from the incubator and one of the eggs was moving! So, I'll get at least 1 chick out of this-as long as it's able to get out of the shell!
It's hot out today, no other word for it. And, I really don't want to do anything outside. But, being inside is killing me. I know I have at least one chick. I can hear it peeping, and when I check on the incubator, at times I'll see the egg rolling around. There is no sign of a pip. I know it can take several hours for them to get out, and I'm hoping it survives and that maybe I'll get a few others as well. But, even thought I know it wouldn't be a good thing to do, I keep wanting to crack the egg and let it out! Anyone want to come over and tie me up so I don't?
And still nothing! I can hear at least one peeping away. And, if I'm by the bator and listen closely, at times I can hear it pecking away at the shell.
Hubby is complaining. He can't hear them cheep. And, he has yet to see an egg move. I know the one is moving for sure, not sure if any of the others are. He thinks they hide when he comes over.
I need to get a shower and get to prayer meeting. I really don't feel like going. But, I have the container they'll be going in all set up. I just might have to find a different place to put it.
I had so much trouble going to prayer meeting tonight. When I got out of the shower and checked the incubator, there was a large chunk missing from the egg. And, there wasn't so much as a little hole B4 I got in! I really wanted to stay home and watch. But, I went anyway. When I got home, I found a chick in the incubator! All in all, it was a good day, even though it started out bad.
I had t leave the house B4 6:30 and go to hubby's work. I stopped on the way to drop some stuff off at the farm. Then from there, I had to go the other way to drop a transmission off for my son. From there, I went home and got all set up for chicks.
Then, I went to therapy. The one therapist wasn't there-he was sick. Another one was on vacation. I know the one that's sick thought I should go for another month. So, I was glad he wasn't there. I had a re-evaluation today since I see the doctor tomorrow. And she's going to recommend to the doctor that he release me! She doesn't think I need to come to therapy anymore! So, if the doctor agrees, then today was my final day at therapy!
I was going to paint the whole back of my shed today. But, I couldn't find a roller cover, just a paint brush. I have T-111 type of wood, so I needed to really get in between the "boards", and can't w/the roller. Well, I decided I'd do as much as I could then see what else I could do. Well, it took me longer than I was expecting, so it didn't matter that I didn't have the roller cover. I'll get one tomorrow morning, and do it then.
I got the majority of the plastic on my greenhouse stapled down where it was coming up. Plus, I baited the trap for the ground hog. Hopefully I'll get out there tomorrow and find I got one. The one hole these guys have dug is huge! So, they gotta go.
Because of leaving so early this morning, it threw my day completely off, so I didn't get everything done that I wanted to do, but all in all, it was a good day-I have a chick! If it's a pullet, it will be one of the ones that stays. If it's a cockerel, I might keep it. It would be 1/4 EE, but I don't know which rooster is the daddy.
I was all set to go to bed, but wanted to check the chick one last time. And, I noticed another egg has a pip! So, I might be late getting to bed tonight.
You and me both. It's pipped on the wrong end. It has it's beak thru, but that's about it. It seems to be OK, though-at least it's quite noisy! I just hope I don't have to help it cuz I wouldn't know what to do, or when I'd need to.
