I like that place Deb! And the one Dawn linked too is niiiiiiiice...all that acreage!! I'd love it!

There is a house across the street from me, built 3 years ago, 10 acres, already fenced with a small barn. BEAUTIFUL home...349K :D *Hint hint* :p

I liked the one Dawn had the link to as well. There was just one problem w/it-no place to go canoeing. That's one thing I need to look for in finding property, is there someplace close I can go canoeing and fishing? And, while I'd like to stay w/in a reasonable driving distance to either a bay or ocean, that's been getting lower on the list of priorities. We don't own a boat, so we never go out in the bay and go fishing any longer. We haven't been crabbing in years, nor have we gone fishing off the shore, bridge or pier, so why bother?

Depending on how my arm is tomorrow, I'm going to start getting to the farm earlier. Then, I'll have time to not only get the field cleaned, but also work for about an hour on whatever, then work w/a horse or 2, give Storm his 2nd feeding and be home by 1:00! It's going to feel strange, but good. Today, I'll be putting up the last little section of fence, then putting electric up on the other side of it. That way, I know I won't have CL's horses challenging my horses from that side. And, I'll also work some more on getting Licky's stall cleaned out. It will be so nice when that's all done.

I'm now seeing light at the end of a few tunnels-I just hope it's not from trains!

I have to put a RB out for my horses tomorrow. So, since I'll already be in the field w/the tractor, I'm going to be pushing the manure all up into a pile. Since I'll be doing that early, I decided to spend time working in Licky's stall. It's almost all clean! And, the part that I'm working on now is the WORST section out of ALL the stalls! (Which is why I left it for last.) At some point in time RU had the minis in this field. And, she had hay in this section. I don't know how she tried to keep them out, but it didn't work. The stall was never cleaned after that. So, I'm finding parts of old pallets as well as the mesh covers from RBs! That's making it much harder to get the stall cleaned, but once that's done, I'll be done cleaning out the stalls! :weee

I got my tank set back up in my field today and I filled it up. So, no one should be able to take it out again-unless they dump the water. And I HOPE no one is ignorant enough to do that. If they did, they'd be told about it in no uncertain terms, and made to put it back. I can't get the hydrant in for a couple of weeks now. RU is away, and I have no idea how to turn off the water. But once she gets back, that will get done.

I have 5 ft of fence to replace. I had planned on doing that today, but decided that can wait until either Thursday or Friday.

I have a good part of the part of the field I'll be seeding weeded. Most of the fence line is done, and part of the field itself. I'm hoping I have enough time to work on that some tomorrow. Once that's done, I'll be doing more of the weeding around my tack shed as well as along my fence lines.

At home, hubby helped me work on the garden fence. I have almost all of 1 roll put up! And, I have part of the garden weeded. Tomorrow, I hope to get the rest of the roll up as well as start on the 2nd roll. I need about 8' off the 2nd roll in order to finish this fence to the chain link fence I have around the yard. I'm hoping I can get the rest of that section fenced tomorrow afternoon, as well as get more of the weeding done. Then hopefully on Friday, I'll be able to get the rest of the area where the fence is weeded. W/that done, I'd be raking up some leaves and dumping them in there.

But, I didn't get done everything fast enough. I had hoped to get my spears thinned while they were sill dormant. Well, I found my first spear today. So that will have to wait until fall.

There's canoeing near the place I posted, just not in the backyard (that I know of). ;)

The closest is the Strawberry River, which is just slightly over 2 miles south of us. Then for more excitement, there's the Spring River in Hardy, which is about 20 minutes north of us.

There's quite a bit of fishing and canoeing in our area, all within easy, short driving distances. The next place I'd like to visit is Eleven Point River in Missouri, just north of the MO/AR state line. I hope we'll be checking that out in May or June, when we go visit the place we ordered the ginseng seed from. :fl

That canoeing is a bit different from what I'm used to! No rapids around here.

As much as possible, I'm trying to run the bike back and forth to the farm. Monday, I didn't drive out-my son needed a vehicle, I wasn't up to running the bike, and it was windy, so he dropped me off. Tuesday, I had my doctors' appointments, so I took the truck. Today, my shoulder didn't feel bad, so I decided I'd ride the bike. They were calling for showers, but not until late afternoon, early evening.

RU is away, so I had to feed her horses. KN didn't make it to the farm, so I had to feed her chickens. By the time I was done, it was much later than I wanted it to be and I still had to clean my field and work on Licky's stall. I had gotten the majority of the mounded stuff out yesterday, but I still needed to get down a couple of inches to get to the dirt. I knew I wouldn't get all done today after all, but I figured I could at least get started. I got my field all cleaned, and got closed to half of Licky's stall done! Got Stormy fed, then went to get the tractor. It started to rain! But, it didn't continue.

I was very careful w/the tractor today. I got out a RB for my guys, then pushed all the manure I've cleaned for the past several days into the pile. Then, I put the tractor away. While it cooled, I got the rest of my hay covered back up, got the gate locked, and rehooked the electric fence. Then I went and covered up the tractor w/a tarp and tied that in place for just in case. Got Misty and Stormy put back where they belonged, got the cats fed and left. I took a little detour-I went past that property I posted. There's no for sale sign on it, so I'm not sure what the deal is w/that. Then, I headed home. I got not even half way home and it started to rain! And, that rain was not only wet, it was cold! At least it wasn't a hard rain. I was quite happy to get home. I got my bike put away, grabbed some wood, and went and started a fire. That was a few hours ago and I'm STILL cold. But then again, I don't feel well. I'm not going to prayer meeting tonight. I'm going to stay home and relax.

I didn't really warm up until I got a big mug of tea. I'm feeling a bit better, but my ears hurt. :( Must be the weather. Sometimes the barometric pressure makes them hurt.

Not sure when I'll be able to get on here today. Several months back, the church decided they wanted to go to Sight and Sound in Lancaster County to see Jonah. I said I'd go-if it wasn't on a Tuesday and it was an early show. To me, early means early afternoon. I know they have shows then. Well, they got the tickets and I found that early to them means 4:15! And, because I'm still having trouble w/my truck, I'm getting picked up. That means I need to leave the farm no later than 11:30. I don't really want to go now, but the ticket is paid for and I can't find any one else to take it. They go again, I'm not going to go. I have too many other things I can spend that money on.

Well I'm home from seeing Jonah, and I'm so glad I went! For those of you that aren't familiar w/Sight and Sound, it's a large theater where act out Bible stories. They have all kinds of incredible scenes, make people fly, etc. And I was really curious how they were going to do Jonah.

First off, the boat they had him on was huge! I had NOT expected anything like that! I don't know how they made it turn, but they did. And I thought when I was looking at it that it looked kind of like a whale. Found out that it was supposed to. Then, they turned this thing so it looked like it was going to come out in the audience. And, the front of it opened up so you could see Jonah inside! They had people (who you couldn't really see that well) w/some large sheets of material to show waves. And, they took these and went right over the audience w/them. I was close enough when they threw Jonah over that I could see the cables holding him up, but it was neat. They did it slow motion.

For the fish, they did use a whale. It was some type of large balloon. And, it was huge! Again, they had people operating it and they went down the aisle w/it so it looked like it was swimming over the audience. Then they had poor Jonah get swallowed. (Not really, but most people probably couldn't still see him since it was kind of dark in there.)

It was probably a god thing I went w/them and that I have to ride in the front. (I get car sick in the back at times.) The driver wasn't quite sure how to get back so he could drop off everyone he picked up. We had run into traffic coming home, and I had had enough of it! So, I took them the back roads. (Past the farm)

Now I'm home, relaxing. I'm not sure if I'll go again-the tickets are almost $50.00. Then you have the cost of dinner, plus the toll and gas. It's not bad if you go in a group, but I'm not sure I want to put out the money again.
