That's why we stay on the lake. They would have been fine if there hadn't been such a huge difference in weight! We did talk about what we can do next time we have that kind of situation. Somehow, we need to be able to set it up so there's a seat more towards the middle, we're just not sure how to do it. Mine only has the 1 seat in it, and it's more towards the middle.

Today started off w/a bang, literally! I woke up at about 5:15. Way off in the distance, I heard thunder. I had told hubby he could take the truck today, but my canoe was still in the back. Plus, I had the paddles and my life jacket in the truck. So I put on a pair of flip flops, and still in my PJs, went out and got everything all out. I got back in the house just in time. It poured! There was also quite a bit of wind. We have some branches down, and there's branches down all over the place. I was expecting our electricity to go out, but it never did.

Because of the storm, I left the house later than I had planned to. The rain did nothing about the heat. I ran out of drinking water at the farm. I was so glad to get home, I was melting. I've been wanting to lose about 10 lbs, so maybe some of it melted off today!

DH and I have a deal: If he wants my truck, and there's something in it that must come out - he does it. If I want the car, I have to remove ALL his work junk. I never want his car :p But his wanting my truck has helped me out on more than one occasion ;)

Can't help it. When I read your post I immediately thought of the wicked witch of the west! I'm meeeelllltttiiinnnggg  The cities around here have begun having power outages due to the demand because of the heat. The lady at the bank started whining about it - "Do you know how hot it gets in here when the A/C is out for 1/2 an hour?!" I told her I have no A/C in my vehicle, no A/C in my house, nothing, so I really couldn't relate. :p She looked at me like I had a third eye

I normally take the canoe out when I'm done w/it, but I was just too beat yesterday to do it. Hubby was going to help me get it out this morning B4 he left, but w/the weather, I couldn't wait for him to get out of the bathroom. :/

Last night, we had a storm roll thru at just shortly after midnight. They changed the forecast and hadn't been calling for any rain when I had checked earlier in the day! So, I left my tack shed windows opened again and had a load of clothes out on the line. I'm not sure how long I was up w/the storm, but I was pretty tired and fell back asleep. Woke up this morning to no power.

I was going to put the chicks out for the day and found out that there's a dead tree down across the old dog pen I had been putting them in. And, while it's not touching the fence, the only thing holding it up is some small branches. So, I packed them up and they're now out at the farm. I knew where there was a small dog house that wasn't being used, so that's in the pen w/them and I can only hope it's big enough for them. If I have to, I can switch what I have in w/the nuggets. There's only 2 of them, and they have a dogloo-which is bigger.

Went to DMV inspection station, and got the truck reinspected. It passed w/no problem. By this time, both hubby and I was getting pretty hungry so we asked if they knew a good place to get something to eat. Went there and found they had no power! But, they were able to cook some things, but no coffee and we had to pay cash. So, we got breakfast.

Needed to renew the registration for my bike. Went to DMV office-it was closed due to no power. Went to an outdoor flea market and I actually found a sundress I like, so we got that and some socks. By this time, it was getting hot out so we decided to go home. Tried calling the electric company to see whether or not we could find out when the power would be back on-they gave me a website to visit. :he Sorry, I don't have internet on my phone so there's no way I could check.

Got home-no power, so we started up the generator. We have all the ceiling fans going and are keeping the doors shut as much as possible. We have no idea when we're going to get power and am so thankful we have the generator. Of course the neighbor came over and borrowed the little one again. I so wish they'd buy their own.

Don't know what I'm going to do today. It's too hot to do anything outside, and hubby doesn't like me to do housework when he's home. Maybe I'll just go back to bed.

Well, the power is back on. We managed to survive and it didn't get too bad in the house. But, it sure is nice to have the AC back!

Glad you got your power back. The same storm rolled through here about 11:30 or so, and it was awful, too. LOTS OF WIND, we were lucky to miss most of the lightening. The sound of transformers blowing is what woke me up, actually. I heard something snap out the front of the house, and heard something thud from the back of the house. When we got up there were lots of medium sized limbs down, the top out of one of the crappy trees across the driveway, several limbs out of the maple, and who knows what in the woods behind the house. Its a pretty big mess, I'm just grateful it wasn't worse. I loathe storms. Despite the fact that is my horse's name :-/

There've been at least 13 deaths blamed on this system, 2 not that far from me. 2 children were killed when a tree fell on their tent while camping. I used to camp w/my kids there when they were little, and we'd always get at least 1 bad storm. We always bugged out to the parking area until it blew over. I felt it was better to be safe than sorry.

I'm hoping everyone else on the board that was hit by these storms is OK as well.
