Only problem I have is hubby. He's home B4 I am, and is drunk by the time I do get home. Plus, he's doing no housework and is STILL making a ton of dishes. Some nights I get home to dinner, but not other nights. I don't always get on here in the morning because of working. I get up, do housework, go to the farm, care for the animals, do some work there, go to work, go back to the farm, give Stormy his 2nd feeding, do some more work there, then come home and try to do a bit at home-if I'm not too beat. I'm lucky if I make it home by 6:00. If the house had been 100% clean B4 I started, it wouldn't be that bad. But, I'm STILL playing catchup and probably will until we get the rest of the junk out of the house.

Seems like a bummer. You find a job that sounds perfectly suited to you, and then have issues pop up elsewhere that make it tough to just enjoy it :/

I find that jobs always get in my way of being efficient around the house. The house was kept so much better when I didn't have a job, or only worked part time.
:hugs Hopefully the routine will settle down for you soon!

Right now, I'm ready to shoot him. I got up at around 5:00 this morning and got about 1/2 of the bathroom cleaned B4 he needed to use it. Rather than start on anything else right then, I got on the computer for a bit, then ate some breakfast and left.

Got to the farm and got everybody fed. I'm going to have to get rid of my one silkie. It is a rooster, and keeps getting in w/my chicks. And, I don't have enough adult hens for 2 roosters. I don't need fights. After I had everyone fed, I got Misty and Stormy in the area I seeded, then did some weeding and left.

There was nothing in the house that I'd eat for lunch, so I had to stop and get a hoagie. I got a large one and only ate half of it. That gives me lunch for tomorrow.

Got to work, and worked until my lunch break, relaxed a bit during lunch, then worked until quitting time.

Left the farm and shot right to the insurance agent and paid the last installment on my motorcycle insurance. Stopped and got some gas for the riding mower, then got to the farm and fed Stormy. Bagged feed, picked the field, and mowed the seeded area. Then, I fed the chickens, put the silkie back where he belonged, collected eggs, put the horses away, fed Cindy and left.

Had to run a couple of errands on the way home and finally got home around 7:00. Got a loaf of chocolate chip banana bread going, then went out and fed the animals and worked in the garden for a bit. Stopped at around 8:00. Hubby wasn't home when I got home, but came home later. And, he locked the front door! :barnie Once I was able to get in the house, I took a shower, then cooked a pizza. I wish I had known last month that I was getting this job. I would have had some dinners made up.

Now, I'm relaxing for a bit. I need to do laundry, I'm just not sure when I'm going to be able to do it.

hqueen's right Deb, after a bit, you'll get in a routine and things won't feel so frantic. I do agree though, that it would've been nice to have at least a little advance notice about the job :/

Normally, they'd hire the aids the week B4 the kids programs started. That way, they'd have all the handouts copied, the closet all cleaned out and reorganized, and a good cleaning to the nature center. So, I'm trying to get everything caught up after the kids leave. One thing I am doing is making copies of all the handouts we use in the morning. That way, if they don't hire an aid until the last minute next year, the handouts are already printed up.

Doing this job is re-awaking a dream I've had for years. I'd like to have my own nature center. I'd like to be able to walk out of my front door to my nature center, and have programs going on there. And, if the area was right, I'd love to have people bring their own horses and/or canoes or kayaks and go exploring that way.

That is a lovely dream, Deb! And one that sounds in a similar vein to dreams that I have. However, living here has tainted that dream a bit... I can't say that I've given up on it, but I can say that if we are to do something like that we will be defining our own boundaries pretty clearly. I like my privacy. A lot. And living here we have very little privacy, and there are things I don't do for fear of being "caught" (even though they are legal) and having opinions made about us and what we do.
